Yesterday we just missed getting plants in the ground before the rain. Gonna try harder today (60%!) but previous appointments come first.

Yesterdays' rain was the first in a couple weeks. Yay.

Nope. I don't usually even follow the weather. Although I probably should since I planned on working on the mailbox area this morning but woke up to rain instead.

Can't complain since we need the rain. Hopefully it'll stop later so I can get out tonight and get something done. Maybe I should go check the radar.

I don't stay up late, but I do check daily. I love the wunderground site because it lets me animate the local radar page. I realized today that when I'm long gone my kids will probably think of me fondly when it rains because it makes me so stinking happy.

I get in a seriously funky mood if we get all clouded up without appreciable rain fall too.

ladywingr, where did you get that map? I would like to check out Jacksonville. I have known for years that I live in the hole of the rain donut.

I got the graph from our water management district - Swiftmud. I don't know where you would find one for Jax.

It was interesting to browse through the pages. We had a fellow ask how folks were doing now that there has been "all the rain" with the flooding and the "drought was over". Looking at the one year graphs compared to the 10 year graphs was quite an eye opener for some.

Here is something that keeps me up, whenever a storm is approaching. It is NOAA's weather buoy site that shows the reports from the buoys they monitor. You can see a real time report on wind speed and the sea conditions as a storm approaches. But then nothing beats a good nights sleep--especially in the winter with a warm beagle under the covers.

Back when I had cable I was addicted to the weather channel, but now I just check out nws.noaa.gov every now and then. I love thunderstorms... especially this time of year!
