Mme Caroline Testout has 15 flower buds, but
Comments (17)It had been in a bigger pot since I got it as a band in Sept, 2007. I planted it in Jan, 2008, and this photo was taken on 2/8/08. So it was pretty little but not a band. A month later it had a flower bud on it. Interestingly, with the same clusters of leaves and a bud at the end of the cane. I guess that's just how it gets going. It still has these short thin canes. It put out 2 or 3 big basal canes last year and several thin laterals in the top third. The posts are 8' tall, so I'd say her growth is about 11' at this point. I'm going to have to put a couple brackets on those posts toward the garage for her to climb on. Sherry...See MoreMy 6 months old has buds
Comments (16)Thank you Rick. Thank you all! Heather, I just dropped little bit of the 10-10-10 about couple weeks ago. I got a 1 year old and it's smaller than this 6-month old. I planted more than 20 seeds last November and got only one survived. That was my first time doing seedlings. Brian, I will definitely let you see when the buds blooming. I got these seeds from a friend of mine in Taiwan and don't know the varieties. My white DR that I got from Walmart a year ago had seed pots in March. It's blooming again now. The picture was 2 days ago. I planted all of the seeds on 8/25. 98% of them germinated which I did not expect. I just repoted them last night. I am hoping they will get bigger before the cold weather coming. It's still 80F+ during the day here. I have started thinking what I am going to do in the cold weeks with these about 100 seedlings. You all have a great weekend. Melody...See Moreum... my hardy hibiscus has BUDS on it already
Comments (1)What kind of hibiscus is it? Texas star (coccineus) or one of the dinnerplate Baltimore types? I have Texas Star and no buds yet - but if it blooms early that's fine with me. I think (not sure) that hibiscus is supposed to be constant blooming - I would be inclined to just let yours bloom and see what happens - give it some flower boosting fertilizer and see if you can get summer long bloom.
