Tampa Swap--rain or shine!

I heard the weather report of rain probably coming Saturday afternoon and evening. After thinking about it, I'm going ahead with the swap Saturday morning! If we have to move inside, we'll move inside...and what better weather for planting our new plants.

Right now I have well over 30 people coming and no way to cancel it even if I wanted to. See you Saturday morning!

I would give anything to go to yours or Sylvia's swaps. That's what's hard about living so far away from the core group. Rain or shine, I hope you have a wonderful time!

Aw, Carol - you could have carpooled with Nancy!!! She came down to go to Silvia's. THen again she spent the night down here and that might have been awkward for you. ;-)

There are several brugmansia (Angel's Trumpets) enthusiasts in the Puget Sound area. Some of us will meet at the Green Elephant swap to exchange cuttings. If there is advance indication that people are interested in learning a little more about these wonderfully addictive plants, with their exotic beauty and amazing fragrance, a brief introductory talk and propagation demonstration will be offered about 11:15AM. Learn about where these plants come from, how they're grown in our area (greenhouse NOT required!), their growing requirements, how they're propagated, brugmansia forums and society web sites, brugmansia nurseries, etc. Do you already grow brugmansias? This is a great opportunity to meet friendly fellow enthusiasts. Connections made here may well lead to new friends and/or future trades! This is a very informal get-together...come join us. I don't know how many people will see this before tomorrow morning but I wanted to know if anyone is interested in hoyas. I'm not going to bring any unless I know someone is looking for them...however I'll take some cuttings if someone out there makes a request. I'll bring something to eat ... "real food" but I don't know what right now. I should brings some pictures of my new yard. It is kind of like Ariel's. We just moved in and there isn't much landscaping but there is a lot of LAWN! Oh gee, I wish I had known. I would have slept in the car, LOL! I didn't know that Nancy was going but I bet she had a great time. Next time - if she wants to do a down and back - I would love to carpool. "Cammunizm" and "Sultry Jasmine Nights" are also both up this way. Maybe we can get a group to ride down sometime.

Did you get the Crinum Ellen Bosanquet bulbs? I bet you have them by now. Mine are blooming better than ever before - it is insane how many scapes they have put up already this year. Yours will do the same in a couple of years. They have to settle in (unfortunately).

I got some of this at Sylvia's swap, but when I got everything home one pot was empty. I think it fell out when I was carrying it to the car and I didn't notice. :(

The storms are not suppose to hit Tampa till around 4 pm...so the swap is in the clear! Plenty of time to swap and then get home and get them in the ground prior to rain. Yea! See you all tomorrow,

Dang! Wish I would've been on here yesterday! I would've made the trek from Kakeland just to see everything and learn b/c I know nothing and would have nothing trade... Hopefully I'll see the next time you do it!

Wish we could have made it. Our grandson did not cooperate!

Our daughter's due date was May 1st, but her doctor has been telling her since the beginning of April that she could go into labor at any time because of the way she was carrying and other signs.

So we have spent the last 2 months staying close to home in case we got that call from her or her hubby.

We might as well have come! The little stinker hung in there until April 3oth! Brayden was born at 0643 weighing in at 8lbs 4oz and 21in long! :D

I know you all had a blast! Can't wait for the next one we can go to.

Carol, count me in on that next south bound carpool! My little station wagon can haul a lot of plants or people. And, if necessary, it can sleep two people in relative comfort. ;o)
