I'm always sorry to hear about bad mailorder experiences. I hope everyone was successful in getting their money back or at least getting a replacement that grew. But I'm not ready to give up on Roots & Rhizomes. As long as I get what I pay for I'm happy. By this I mean I'm willing to nurse a smaller cheaper plant along for a year or two if it means I can buy more varieties than I would have otherwise been able to afford. And in my opinion R&R has more of the plant varieties I want (I'm thinking of their siberian iris selections in particular... these are newer harder to find varieties that haven't made it over to Bluestone yet). ps. I also ordered those phlox from Jungs..... needless to say I was calling for replacements.

I've visited them and enjoyed the selection of some unusual plants. I also really liked the staff. My mom is from eastern NC and when she and one of the staff were discussing a particular plant they gave her one for free so that they could get some info from her as a "test" as to how it did in her garden. I thought it was great that a nursery was that interested in how plants perform in different areas of even the same state. I'm not surprised you got great service from them.

I think a couple of us from the GW traveled to Cottage Gardens this summer, I did, and I live in NE Ohio. More than worth it. Brent was very nice and helpful, My sister in law and I both wanted Jungle Beauty, but he only had about five small fans left, He gave me two fans for free and threw in the sign. Then, he took about a 25% discount off my total order and he gave us seedling clumps for no charge.!!!!! His gardens by the house are beautiful, and out in the field everything was well labeled. He dug many up himself along with ,I think, a nephew who was helping. We are going to make this a yearly trip. I say go for it, his daylilies are healthy and he is very helpful and generous. We went in early July and all are doing great. Cindy

I received my DLs from Eclectic Gardens today, and I am pleased with what I received. Coming all the way across the country, they are not as green as some I receive closer by, but the root mass is huge on them, and the fan size is just fine for Northern DLs. I will order again. The fan count was generous and there was even a bonus. Thanks abbiejan for letting us know about this vendor. Jane
