Growing Bermuda in Florida in sugar sand

Hi, I frequent the lawn care and organic lawn care subforums here, but more often than not the information is tailored to other soil types than the typical pure sugar sand that is in SW Florida here. Just wondering if anyone here grows Bermuda, specifically Celebration Bermuda, in similar conditions with the sugar sand and what if anything do you amend it with to get good consistent results.

I have sections where I have good coverage that is green and thick but other areas in full sun seem to dry out way too fast and the grass does not grow there well and gets taken over by weeds. Also when it dries out it is not hard but like beach sand. I've tried adding compost but want to maintain the level with the other areas that are doing well. I have tried Hydretain without much improvement over several years. Just wondering what others have used with success.
