amaryllis

Native Wisteria aka "Cat Pee Vine"

Louisianna Iris

Not a bloom but Beautiful Blueberries!

And, of course, the roses -

Beautiful blooms - but did you say that you saw Spring? 'Cause all I got here now is summer. LOL. I thought I saw a smidgen of spring-like weather for a day or two, but then - *POOF* it was gone.

Beautiful pictures!! We did have spring (back in March,lol...) although only for a few days. It definitely was a short one, and it looks like its going to be a very long hot summer **sigh**

LOVELY!!! Kayaking sounds great too! I bought one of those gazing balls for the pond and I really like it floating around in there(6ftx10ft doesn't give a lot of room to add stuff), just put in some WH,new item for the pond for me. Hope your baby makes it.

I've had crocuses blooming for almost a month, the very early yellow, white and lavender snow crocuses that I planted very shallowly, and for the last week the darker purple and gold big crocuses. ANd the early shallow daffs have been blooming for almost a week now. And the old fashioned quince has a few buds open on the few twigs that didn't get broken when the oak limb fell on it during the ice storm. And now the plum and the almond are breaking buds too. They may both come out to be replaced with something that will produce for me. The spring peepers started up right after the ice storm on that 70 degree day. And today a flock of geese passed right overhead going straight north. A sad sign of spring--a few days ago I saw the dog chewing on something bloody and it was the hoof and ankle of a newborn calf. I don't think she would kill a calf--she's ten years old and too fat--but perhaps one was stillborn and she found it. Yes, Lycoris Squamigera, the Naked Lady or Surprise Lily. I still have plenty to share if anyone wants to come dig in May or June.

Oh my goodness Just! I am glad that is not my view today. We topped out at 74 earlier this afternoon. Very cloudy now and breezy with the threat of thunderstorms through the night. We will be cooler again next week and of course we still have Blackberry winter, Dogwood winter, etc., etc., etc. BUT I think (hope!) the worst is behind us and the cold snaps will be shorter and shorter . . . . Remember I work on a college campus and getting out today I had to laugh at all the shorts/tees/tanks, etc. so many of the kids had on. tina

I glad Tavi's adventures brightens your day. They sure do mine! She's just about 6 months old now and is a bundle of mischevious energy that's turning out to be an enthusiastic hunter. I can't let her out on the screened in front porch unsupervised anymore due to her climbing the screens in an effort to catch the lizards that are on the outside of them!
