Let me start by saying I love eveyone that has been posting photos. I have been keeping up by sneaking a peak while in between classes/chores. Unfortunately, I have not been finding time to comment on everyones posts, but have been enjoying them!

I'll try to keep the photos in each thread to a minimum for those on Dial up...

Well thank you all!! Best photo is an outstanding compliment, seeing as there are some great photographers here on this board! :o) And enablers too, I must say! Kathy - I think that is the best photo I have of Strawberry Candy. I finally got a new camera, and if I set it on the "baby" setting, I can really get the true colors of some of the hard to capture daylily colors, such as Strawberry Candy. It is not pink, but not orange... and "bright coral" sounds so blah! lalalandwi - you are going to just love IPT, blooms are on the smaller side, but they are just so darned cute with the yellow wire edge. For some reason, daylilies with that feature really seem to capture me. IPT is another daylily that makes me all giddy when I see it bloom. EMMA TOMLINSON MCHUGH is one that I looked for, for a long time. Very different, but the pink is SO intense. Maryl - CIG is one of those flowers that kind of has a stippling effect that makes up its overall color. For me, it took a while to really get good blooms, even though the plant took off like a weed. It opens well, and has great branching and budcount. Sharon, IPT was really light pink the first year I had it. This year, the color has darkened up some, but it does fade a wee bit in the HOT Texas sun, so I get lighter flowers in the afternoon. My photos from last year were remarkably lighter, but I think it was because the clump was not established. 2008

Flaurabunda, it's so funny you mentioned cameras. I was reloading some ancient photos into Facebook last night and it's quite startling to see how much my photo-taking has changed. Back in 2009 (the year of Gemini), I did not know how to handle my camera with the right sun exposures but even so Gemini was always beautiful; to this day save for Folklore and with Penny Lane (growing in sunlight) I've never seen a more perfectly formed rose. Kansas heat ruins rose shapes save for those 2 roses. Gemini always looked good no matter what the lighting; constantly spiraling, and your photo just reminded me so much of what she once was before she died. I loved that rose so much and she was a sport-fragranced one too. Double the Agony of losing her.... I'm afraid to get any other Gemini save from J&P because so few Gemini's have the deep coral, and I still hope to find one just like it.... I also check my local nursery but no dark coral Gemini yet...I bet you are probably being "too modest" or not breaking the hard truth for fear it'd make me "insane with grief" lol. Anyway, your photo of her was very "Haunting" and beautiful-- I felt like it was seeing her all over again.... I also forgot to say, I love your "Wall of Fire". Just brilliant! :D

Cinnamon Girl and Paradise Found are my favs. I have Paradise Found, but it's at its 2nd year, so I'm not too familiar with how it looks. I think it might have been lavender with darker edges like advertised. Maybe it's because it's colder here. I really like Table Mountain too. But Paradise Found blew my socks off!!! Wow!! Jean - We've all been missing you! So wonderful to see you posting again! nancykvb - Hello to you also! Insider Trading and Summer Snowball are great ones. Maryl - Empire of Desire is a midseason bloomer. It's just about bloomed now, but I'm hoping it reblooms this year. I like the color, the sculpting, and the large size of the blooms. It multiplies extremely well. I traded part of it and sold a division this spring and still have six fans. I would definitely recommend it. Summer Snowball reminds me of Razor Sharp. Sorry to read your Pinwheel Princess did not bloom this year. I was sad about Larkspur Blues not scaping this season. Maybe we'll both get lucky and they'll put up scapes later. Sherry - My mom is doing better. They're finally letting her have real food again! Mantis - Did you finally add Insider Trading? If so, I hope it's doing well for you. Debra

The photo of Bluegrass Music is really spectacular: perfect flower, great light and depth of field. It looks like Heaven's Declaring is doing well for you. Mine took a hit over the winter. I lost one of the fans and it looks puny this spring. I've only got one small scape with three buds. I'm hoping it will bulk up again. And, of course, you know I love Lucid Moment.

I was just drooling over Heaven's Declaring (and Lucid Moment, too); but if it is tender for you, Debra, it would probably disappear completely on me. (Sniff!)

Those Greywoods are fabulous! I need to investigate those. I would have to say I love them all though!

Thanks everybody!! Glad I can convert some of you to the purples!! :o)

Debra - I got a nice 4 fan clump of HD from the seller last fall, and it seems to be doing well. I get all giddy when I see it bloom - it has become one of my favorites (and therefore has had it's pollen all over my garden). I sure hope that fan comes back like gangbusters for you... :o( What a bummer.

lalalandwi, I had to wait 2 years for Darlyn to have enough GW Painted Pony to sell. I think they are a smaller hybridizer AND that one is in high demand. I took a quick peek and both GWPP and GWTP are sold out. BUT, if you email them, they will send you an email when they are available. They were GREAT to work with and send wonderful plants. In fact, the bonus they sent bloomed today too!

I think my memory is coming back to me, LOL! If I am remembering this correctly, last fall someone posted seedlings that had GW Painted Pony as a parent? Very sharp if I'm remembering right. Yes, I am adding blueberries to my garden to help retaining brain cells!

Just checked out their website & you have turned me on to a few crazy ones! I think Disco Dana & River Dancer are the sassiet looking dls! That double of theirs Tootsie Two Shoes is right up my alley as well. Looking at their price list says they have to be a hidden secret because just about everything is sold out.

Thanks for turning me on to them!
