Anybody in Central Florida or zone 6 Michigan?

Hi all --

Today I am looking for someone in central Florida to pick up some weed seeds for me. LOL! I am looking for a yellow paintbrush -- a small flower whose botanical name I don't know. It grows on the curbside in Melbourne, Florida. The description is: tassel-like yellow flowers, about 1 or 1 1/2 inches long, hanging down a bit and coming from a basal rosette. There are usually 3 or 4 flowers on a stem. The whole pant is something like a ten or twelve inches high and is very graceful. It would take 20 or 30 plants to make a show in the garden. The basal rosette is about 4 inches wide. It might be in the Emelia family.

The odd thing (besides me asking somebody to send me weed seeds, that is) is that the same flower grows in Michigan! It's isn't found on curbsides, but in fields and to the side of rural roads.

Would also like Emelia japonica (a red tassel flower, same description as above). Never seen it growing wild.

Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Thanks,

Lime
