Oh, my. Looks like it is the source of those oval shaped "stickers" that get stuck to my poor little dog. No beggarweed for us, here, but good to know what it is ! Thank you so much.

I grow a type of ivy on an arch over my garden gate called "Lady Lavender". It grows quickly, is easy to manipulate as to where you wish it to grow (I simply used bread ties to guide it across the arch after planting it on one end). It grows very, very quickly. I planted it about May 1st and it covers about 85% of my 7' arch and these gorgeous blossoms on it that resemble the "Sacred Seeds" from the movie Avatar, that are lavender and have this wonderful aroma that is unique! As a matter of fact, next year, I'm going to put a small bee hive next to it so I can collect the honey because the flowers attract not only bees but I have hummingbirds (yes! we do have hummingbirds in Central Florida!!!). I've never handled bees but I'm the adventurous sort of person and will try everything!

Not a Florida grower so not sure how much help this will be but from reading all the past discussions here (search 'Florida') on growing tomatoes there it seems the planting time is what is crucial, not the variety. In other words you can grow just about any kind you want if you get them planted out by late February to early March to beat the onset of the heat. It appears from what the other Florida growers have said that middle to late May puts an end to your production if the weather follows its normal patterns. Then you have a second fall growing season starting in September. In that season it seems to be the so-called "early" varieties (60 day) that work the best. Have to talked with your local county extension service about planting times? They can be a wealth of info on both when to plant and which ones work best. And check out the Florida Gardening forum here too for info on which varieties grow best for your neighbors. They have lots of tomato discussions going over there. I would extend Eric's suggestion to start floss silk trees small, to most all trees you plant. Studies have shown repeatedly that if in a controlled set of conditions, a small transplant will often catch up to and then exceed in size a very large one, due to the latter's having to spend considerably more energy in getting reestablished in its new home. Plus, it truly is enjoyable-once the bug has bitten you-to watch young trees grow and develop. And unlike what you hear so often, trees do not grow slowly. Once you really become aware, it is amazing how fast they do develop.
