My DH picked Jazz up at the vets this morning. He's so stiff and kinda sad but I know he's proud to be home. He did his natures callings first thing home. Then he drank water for atleast 2 minutes, which, brought on a hunger pain and he ate a huge bowl of food! This is always good signs for the sick, animal or human!!!

We go back to see the vet in 2 weeks. He doesn't appear to be in any pain when he walks. He does hobble on that back leg, but he get around really good.

God is merciful. He brought my baby home and he gave me all of you for encouragement. Thanks and blessings to all, Mona

Oh, Jazz is soooooo beautiful! He will be so thankful to be in his safe, happy home in his really comfy chair. Congratulations in finding him so he can give you many more years of love! Beautiful doggy!

I have a couple of peonies under massive pines, they get mostly afternoon sun and do okay, better than hostas under pines!! Peonies don't need or want too damp of a spot so the drier part shade works much better than wet part shade. Your plants probably will be a bit taller and not as full, though. I'm not sure about hydrangeas in that spot, mine require a lot more water than I can get consistently under pines. The only things that seem to not care at all is daylilies! MB does stand behind their plants, if yours don't come back in the spring call them--they'll certainly replace them. Same with Springhill, they're having a sale on Kirinmaru peony right now, with keycode 0442569 they're $19.95 each. I'm tempted but have ordered far too many already! It sure is pretty, though! Google it and see what you think.

I don't think anyone here can give you any numbers. Since there are posters from literally all over the country here nobody can give an accurate guess. One region (New England) will definitely have a different price range than another region (Southwest). Your best bet would be to talk to the fireplace shop and see if they have any contractors who do brick work. Then get 3 estimates.

We are under contract with the second people to view our home and everything is proceeding well. However, we were also under contract last year after just about the time you've been on the market. (Unfortunately the deal fell through due to an unforeseen problem which the inspection turned up.) Anyway, our experience last year as first-time sellers taught us a lot. There are definitely lulls. In fact, we're learning something even this time around. Last year, we had tons of traffic for about a week, but no offers. This was excellent traffic for our area. Then... NOTHING for 5 weeks. Zero showings. Then a decisive drop in price, and showing activity picked up, multiple offers. However, we were never sure that it was the new price which drove the increase in traffic. Showings dropped off at a point when apparently everything dropped off everywhere, and our price change coincided with a pick-up throughout the area. This year, we decided to go in closer to our lower price, but still about $10K above our final contract last year, even though the market is about the same around here this year. We got a full price very "clean" offer in about half a week (which is insanely fast for my area.) The agent took his time changing the status of the property, and we have heard that in that time, we got no requests for showings, despite the property appearing to still be completely available. School's about to end around here, or has ended in some places. This is a bit earlier than we went on the market last year, and I think this is yet another time of year when everything in the area drops off. If you are worried about people wondering what is "wrong" with your house - I would include an artfully worded statement in my public remarks, something to the effect of "Buyer financing fell through, back on market." I see this sometimes. It's better not to have something like that, if you can help it, but if need be it can help to off-set a negative impression. I agree, it's none of his/our business about her getting married... however, she is the one that has pulled us aside and told us that she was marrying him last August and she is the one that called DH in November. She has discussed her plans, including the wedding theme (butterflies) with SD so that every time SD sees butterfly things, she starts talking about her mom's wedding. The more I think about it, maybe she is hoping we react to it but we haven't. DH could care less and yes, that is great for me. I've never had a doubt that he could care less what she does or that anything she does could make him remotely jealous. My concern has more to do with SD's other problems (everything she's gone through adjusting to her mom leaving) and her counselor is now leaving the state so she is losing her counselor too. I have some worry that SD will act out again when she realizes mom is lying about getting married. I agree that he probably hasn't asked her but then he also told his ex that they were getting married in Spring. I guess the biggest issue is how it affects the kids (on both sides) for them to be telling them and then it doesn't happen. I know that it is ultimately going to be on them to explain to the kids but usually, it comes back to BM blaming everyone else. SD was told it's DH's fault that her mom lost her job. BM finds a way to make it someone else's fault and we end up having to deal with the fallout or feel like we have to defend her accusations. Since SD's counselor is leaving, I was hoping she won't have to find a new one. She's with BM for summer anyway so she won't be here to see a counselor until school starts. If she doesn't have any meltdowns or acting out, we are probably not going to take her back to counseling. The weight thing, for her height, SD should weigh 85-90 lbs. She weighed 85 lbs when she was 5 and I considered her obese or very overweight. She's gotten taller and thinned out so she has been about average for her height.. she looks very healthy. But, with the added weight, it is all in her belly and her pants button pops off. She has broken two new pants (one zipper, one button) in the last few months. I think it's the amount of food she eats (we were having burritos and we give her one, she says she can eat three at her moms) and the type of foods (she says she eats donuts with Mountain Dew for breakfast and usually just fast food. Her mom doesn't cook) She eats a lot there and when she is here, she acts like she's always starving, even if we feed her more than a normal portion size. We'll give her more good snacks like fruit but she wants junk and sweets. I've given up with worrying about what her mom is doing. I told SD that if she overeats and gains a lot of weight, SHE is the one that has to deal with being teased at school (something she cries to us about) and that we have no control over what she eats at her moms so she has to take responsibility, even if her mom lets her eat anything. DH has mentioned it to BM a few times in the past, he always gets denials. SD is getting old enough to make choices about what and how much to eat and I told her that if she is going to eat everything she wants (because she brags to me that her mom lets her have this or have that and I don't) then I don't want to hear her crying later about kids teasing her.

Now we know he'll be fine...cause "Mommy" will take such special care of him. :)
He sure looks like he's as snug as a bug in a rug, in his chair.
Glad you've got him back home safe and well, not quite so sound, but he will be soon, I'm sure.

I'm so glad you got your "Buddy" back! Course I would look happy too if I was sitting in that fancy chair...:) I hope he as no major breaks/fractures or internal injuries. Hopefully just some bruising and soreness that will heal along with the road rash with just some time. He sure looks like he is in the best of care now. We are pulling for you Jazz!

OOOOO, He's so sweet looking. I know he's happy to be home, they are just like us always glad to be home. Only thing is they don't know what the heck is going on.

Oh Mona, I am so happy for you! He will get better a lot faster now with his momma there to take care of him. He is so cute! You just want to hug him and kiss him and give him heck for the scare he gave you! Glad your baby is home and on the road to recovery.

Hi Lrae,
He is moving slowly. All other funtions appear to being doing good. I was concerned about his kidneys. He had a little blood yesterday, but everything is clear today and working on about a hourly basis. Also, he's drinking water and eating like a healthy year old puppy, so this is encouraging.

I'm doctoring is "road rash" with a spray they sent home and he's doing ok with this, but doesn't really like the spray can sound. But, this is the best way to put anyting one the sore spots.

Our biggest problem is his hip. The ball part of the joint is out of the socket. This is only painful when he tries to jump up on something or pivet on that leg. This occurs mainly when he's trying to get put somewhere to sleep. His chair just isn't big enough, thus he tries to curl up and this doesn't work at all. I've made him a big bed out of an older mattress topper that's about 2" thick foam. It would work great, but now my older dog has taken this over. This leaves him with the older dog's bed and it's big enough. Now, my little dog would really like this bed but I just will not let her have it. She has 3 pillows that she claims, and that's about 2 too many! Maybe they will work out something during the night. Last night he spent the night on the hard floor(I didn't know this until I got up this morning). He was on the sofa when I went to bed, but he has to jump just a little bit to get up there, so he didn't get back up there after a trip out with my DH.

Man, the things we go through for our babies. I really would like for God to let him adjust to his hip and not have to go through the surgery. The only good thing about the surgery will be, if it works really good, he won't have as much pain. He will still limp as bad as he does now. I'm just going to have to let the vet make this call for me. I'm praying and I know that I will get the answer.

Mona, I've been gone for about two weeks. Was your precious baby hit by a car? Jazz looks too precious for words. I'm so glad he is with you and on the mend. Hugs to you both. I have read about special beds for arthritic dogs, which might help in this case. ??? So glad he is safe and sound with his mama.

Yes, sadly, he was hit by a car. He disappeared on Tues night last week but didn't get home until next morning. After many tears and my heart will never heal from the pain, today he seems to be not a lot better as far as his right hip is concerned. The "roadrash"(bad skinned places) is beginning to heal, Praise God for this.

He was just in my bedroom while I was getting everything ready for sleep and he cried out in pain. Oh my heart! There isn't much to be done. He takes an anti-inflamatory drug daylily. Now we just have to wait to see for about another week to 10 days if the Dr decides he needs surgery.

He's HAPPY! Eats up the loving, scratching places he can't reach and his appitete is really good. All of this is encouraging, just his hip. He walks with a terrible limp, but he can still move faster than me!! He goes outside with me, but he is on a long leash line and tied where he can watch but not run off. So is my older dog and this is not making either of them happy. I just can't let him go yet. I'm afraid he might run off again and get into so much pain that he would lay down somewhere or might even get in the road again.

I what I would give for a fensed in yard. We were the only house on a dead end road for about 8 years. Now, we have a subdivision on 3 sides and one planned for the back side. It's been a hard adjustment for my dogs and me too. We liked our peace and quiet. We have an acre on the west side, then our house is on an acre and then another acre on the east side. The road is in front and an open field in back that our dogs have ran rabbits since we have been here for 15 years.

They just do not understand why they can't run and play like they used to. Jazz has only been here for 6 months but the other two have been here 10 years and 5 years. Oh how we resist change!

I do want to thank all of you again for your prayers and kind words. It means so much. I've told Jazz all about you and I swear he smiles! I'm a dog lover to the core of my being. Can you tell???
