Tampa Swap---anyone need these?

I went out and evaluated the damage this morning. The backyard is a mess. I'm over tenders! All that brown got me wanting to garden so I decided to break out the seed stash and seed starting pots and get going on it. But it was all behind so much other gardening stuff I couldn't get to it so I had to clean and reorganize. I came across a lot of things I no longer want/need. I know it's still months away, but is anyone planning on coming to the Tampa Swap (I'm assuming I'll host again in spring...or is that presumptuous of me?) that will want or need these things, I'll save them--

kitty litter plastic pails with lids (27lbs up to 35 lbs ones)? I have about a dozen that I'll save if people want them.

a rolling tool cart just like this one..

it's too wide for my sidewalks and snags on everything, totally annoying me so much I don't use it anymore.

and a pond vacuumn--link below to model I have. Only used this twice in two years. Last time was this week. I hate the "Automatic activation and emptying through intelligent device control"...it's idiotic. Ended up using my hands and a bucket, lol.

If more than one person wants these things, we can do rock/paper/scissors to be fair. If no one wants them, it's freecycle!

Oh, and I'll be looking for hardy shrubs and flowers this year at the swap!

Too funny Lori! Did my Skyvine and solarium plants survive? If not I think Thryallis from seed will, and I have seeds for Nemesia too.

Even as far south as I am, this is why I have so many things in pots. I know that's not feasible for a lot of people, and believe me, I get sick of hauling them in and out, but it's the only way to keep them alive.

Thanks BR, I definitely want to check them out. Do they have Saturday hours? John, if all you need is perlite and don't want to make the trip to Tampa you can get the 4CF bags from Neeld-Gordon down near the 22nd Ave HD, but it will be $18-19 a bags vs. $15 a bag. Now if you need pine fines the trip to Shell's is well worth it because Mulch Express and TreeMart a little further north on Nebraska both sell fines, ME by the truckload and TM by the 2CF bag, and Cypress Creek slightly north of TreeMart but on Florida Ave. sells fines by the truckload too, as well as fertilizer. So, within close proximity of each other you have a feed store, a mulch distributor, a landscaping company and a landscaping supply company, you can't beat that for convenience! Tom

So, Chris and I have been working hard and have finally come up with my final pool rendering. The pavers and coping aren't exactly the colors we are looking at, but everything else is pretty much exactly what we are looking at. This revision might look a lot like the last rendering I posted, but it is different. We added people into the rendering so we could get a better perspective of space, we reduced the patio size and slightly reduced the spa size. We also added a paver boarder around the patio. We are looking at approximately 1300 sq feet of patio, approx 600 sq ft of pool and a 48 sq ft spa. We are going to restart the bidding process with 3 builders and we hope to have construction started in the next 2-3 weeks!

Ok, suspicions confirmed! Thanks, desertsteph! Lascatz, how do you fit all that in 12 inches? Pegboard? I thought a lot about where to put the pantry. It is currently where the fridge and pantry are pictured with 12 inch deep fixed shelves and much wasted space. I really want to avoid all tall cabinets on the short wall against the bathroom as it makes the space feel closed in (fridge is currently there). It was hard to decide between having the Advantium next to the fridge or the pantry, and in the end I wanted the pantry by the fridge and to steal the 6 inches for an 18 inch drawer stack vs 12 inch. I agree a straight line isn't ideal, but the space is small, and that's the only option that works without major structural changes or filling up that short wall floor to ceiling. Or we could lose the Advantium, but DH is pretty excited to get one and it's the only thing he's asked be included other than a double sink! So any additional ideas for making a 24 inch cabinet into utility/cleaning storage? Looks like I can work on converting the utility closet to a pantry while I'm waiting for the remodel to begin, kind of excited about that as it feels like it's starting!

I've been giving some serous thought about buying one of those large four wheel farm trailers, fill it with dirt and grow my garden on it, when they say 'freeze' I can hitch it to my tractor and drive it into the barn for the night and yank it back out in the morning when the sun's up.
This hauling pots in and out by hand is getting old real fast.

Tom...the skyvine and solanum are brown above ground, not sure if they'll come back or not. Just in case though, I took cuttings of the solanum.

I use to have Thyrallis, but don't have enough sun for them anymore.

I agree with the rest of you, it's just too much work lugging things in and out for every freeze and/or hurricane. I've been taking cuttings from my whitfeldia elongata and brunfelsia lactea as both grow fine in the shade and took the freezes well....so am blanketing the yard in them! Also quite surprised that my new Grand Duke jasmine is as green as the day I got it...must plant more of it, too. If it's still green after 2010 freezes, I'm planting it in mass in 2011, lol.

Hi Lori- My roses came thru' just fine, also ginger didn't freeze.... today is first day I am using my PC, it was at the shop for a week, and came back with all my E-mail gone and instead of Outlook Express it's Outlook, which is hard getting used to.... whatever,......... I look forward to coming to the Swap and maybe by then will have some stuff to bring.... I'll take that yard-cart if nobody else wants it, sure can put it to good use arround here.... Thanks, sally
