Hosta bed - progress and suggestions

So this is where I'm at with that hosta bed I posted about last year. I removed the shrubs and thankfully they are not putting up too much of a fight this spring.

I planted 22 new hostas and some alliums and daffodils. There are a couple of lilies from the old garden that was there, and some semps. Obviously the hostas are just leafing out and will take up more space. I have Aruncus (goat's beard) started and I'm thinking of moving a couple of hostas out of the middle and planting it there to get huge.

Does Aruncus spread around much or just form a single large clump?

I'm also thinking of planting something low and a little brighter near the sidewalk - lamium? vinca? that pale purple puffy stuff that I don't know what it's called?

Also, this photo makes the bed look small - it is actually quite big. What do you think?
