Every day that you walk out into your garden, there will be at least one special daylily bloom that gladdens your heart and makes all your efforts worthwhile. Please nominate your best bloom of the day in this thread. It should be helpful for our newer forum members who wish to acquire more daylilies.

Well Nate my favorite is Malaysian Marketplace and I got excited thinking yay I have that one on order. But alas as I went to look at my order it is Malaysian Monarch not Marketplace. And BTW you have so many blooms I saw no weeds! ;) That's what I tell my husband when he comments on my weeds. "What weeds honey?" "All I see is flowers!" Your gardens and flowers are beautiful! The rules were devised by the members of the GardenWeb in an attempt to make sure the big HT collections like the Nicholson Bowl and McFarland Award wouldn't dominate the winning of Best of Show. I can tell you the judges would lean that way simply because they can maintain it is harder to have 9 or 7 well matched HTs than to produce one spectacular single stem. I have been involved in too many Best of Show awards in local shows to pretend anything different. It really is too bad the English Box couldn't win, but it is very difficult to devise a definition that will always get you where you want to end up. However, if the members of the GardenWeb want to change the definition, it is the GardenWeb trophy and you probably could change it. However, you want to make sure the cure isn't worse than the disease.

Thanks so much you guys! I am obviously very excited since I've been watching you, my gardenweb friends, share your lovely blooms for the past couple of months! These Rainbow blooms didn't even last six hours! I am so glad I got some bud shots last night and the open bloom photos this morning because we had a mild rain storm around lunch time today and they were both droopy and petals down already! Whew! Blink once and you'll miss the Rainbow blooms, I guess! Can't wait to see what opens next over here! I have a Purple Tiger about to open up it's one and only bud!

I like that purple seedling. Good watermark and the white pencil edging set it off......Remembered Kisses has the prettiest color of rose red for the edging and eye. I really like that color of red. No Blue Oxfords is another one I like. Kind of an orchid lavender base color. Pretty.........Maryl

Yes, photos would be great. I just didn't have time to take a picture of ABILENE LILLIAN today. There were two FFO's side by side. So pretty! I'll try to do better next time.

Not only my best bloom but my first bloom of the season. Lots of buds but this daylily was the first to burst open:

Somewhat wet big white seedling FFO (6.5")-- cross was of Lambertson's daylilies.

Nancy - I love the big white seedling! Very nice! And Tommy's photo of Abilene Lillian doesn't let you off the hook. I want to see how it looks in your garden. Please take a photo of it soon.

We were in your neck of the woods last weekend. No. 3 son offered to take me to visit you and see your daylilies but I didn't want to bother you. He goes to West Fork every morning on business.
