This wasn't even that much of a Catalog. No pictures only very short descriptions. I bought them sight unseen. But really based on the fact that I do have some Dale Thomas intros here from last year and I liked the flowers. Its because they are late bloomers. If they were midseason daylilies, I would not be buying 2009 intros without seeing pictures first.

I was looking through Stuart Kendig's new intros and I really like Butterfly Wishes. I didn't fall in love with any of Dale Thomas's intros.

Well, since I don't have pictures, I just went for the late and very late bloomers. I did buy Stu Kendigs 2009 intro AUGUST SUNSET. I guess it will be quite a surprise when they all bloom.

Oh Rita! You should live where I do. I go To Diane and Stu's place a few times a summer. It is heavenly!!! And such nice folks too! Every year I say I'll only spend $100.00, and every year I blow my budget. You should see Stu's seedling beds. The future is going to be very bright for them. Lots and lots of pretty faces. Their garden is fabulous and in full swing around the 4th of July. I usually go over the holiday. I'll try to get pics of his new stuff if it's blooming that day. I probably won't get any shots of Dale's stuff unless I get back in late July, but if I do I'll post them.

Last year I filled up a 256mb memory card with pics from their garden.

I have heard that the garden is absolutely stunning. It is a place that I would love to see but too far to just take off to see.

There were lots of ML Thomas intros listed and there just must be something that is mid blooming of his so maybe you will get to see some Thomas intros also.

Yes, I know. I am hopeless but happy. Honestly, when I wrote the title for this post about ordering more daylilies I didn't know if it should have a smiley face (because I love more daylilies) or a frowney face (because I seem to have no moderation and just get whatever I want).

You really have gotten a long bloom season from those iris.

I have really gone bonkers over the TB iris. I hope to get a long bloom season like you are having but I seem to always pick out the mid type bloomers. Going to have to do something about that. Have pieces of paper with all sorts of scribbled notes to myself as to more TB iris I want to order this summer.

My daylilies from Diane Kendig of Perfect Perrenials came yesterday. Two big boxes. I was swamped so I only got a change to open them today and put them to soak. I did really well, the plants are really nice. I will get a picture later.

I have to go work on placing the stringline along in front of the row of late blooming Rechamps / Khelms were I am going to plant most of these. Don't know how many yet, until I measure and do the spacing.

Okay, so some of us order late. And often. It's okay, it's only money. Have you got Crimson Edges? It is a beauty, a 2007 Stamile, I think. Someone posted it on the daylily forum, and I loved it.

I cannot imagine buying one I didn't see a picture of first, but, of course, pictures can be, and usually are, deceiving.

Oh, by the way, remember those Dutch iris that Breck's sent when that first crop was blooming? This second bunch is blooming now. They are shorter and smaller, but very pretty. And I love having them now.

Oh Rita, we will have to compare notes! I have AUGUST SUNSET, too...along with three others from the Kendigs that arrived last month. I have been very happy with the two plants of theirs that I owned prior to receiving these, so I'm counting on good things from the new ones!

Who knows, maybe I will get a chance to visit them...I'd like to, but we'll see what the summer holds.

I had to order these sight unseen. This was the only way I was going to get Thomas intros. And I wanted those Thomas intos very much.

Here they are soaking after arriving on Wednesday and only getting unpacked on Thursday. Lots of rain all day Friday so no gardening and today is nice and bright and sunny. I have to spray all my roses today so after that I want to put up my stringline and measure out spacing for the line of daylilies.

Well, from looking at the date of this post which showed when I first put those daylilies to soak, I certainly did not rush to get them planted :-(( Just got them done today. Its been so rainey that many days when I would have worked in the garden, I just couldn't as it rained or everything was drenched after the rain. Rained last night heavy but cleared up and the sun came out. Figgured we would have a sunny day all day but no. Guess what? Its raining again. I got finished just in time.

I put them in the newly made this spring serviceberry garden. Thats the one with daylilies and lily bulbs. They are now all in a row making the outermost, which is first row, in that garden. I think this garden is going to be truely wonderful after it gets established with the combo of daylilies and lily bulbs. It doesn't look bad now but everything needs more growing.

I see the mailman brought my very last daylily order which I have been waiting a long time for. Thats Ambrosia Rows from Kathy Lamb, Loon Song Gardens. And those darn tropical Milkweeds I have been waiting two months for are here also on my porch. Better get busy unpacking.
