Just checking in to see if anyone heard the news of Cindee's surgery on Wednesday.

I just spoke with Dan and all went well. She's up and walking. She should be coming home tomorrow afternoon.
I sent love and good thoughts from her buds on GW.

Hello all! So sorry, I didn't get on computer for quite a while and just posted again last week on Facebook. Made my arms hurt to much to type. I am doing well according to drs. Will be 4 weeks on Thursday. Took both breasts and muscle in areas. Just got staples and drains out on Monday. But all in all I am doing well. Walk the yard daily, when not raining. Able to go out and to store (when someone gets the stuff for me). I have been cheating this week and planting a few seeds here and there in a few pots. But granson fills them and moves them for me. Might be a little late in year, but makes me feel good. My dgt. did plant all my wintersown items that came up! I don't believe I would have done so many if had known in March that I was going to be diagnosed with cancer! They won't let me do reconstruction for at least a year, and maybe not then. But I am just thrilled I am alive, so will be padded forever I suppose! LOL! Actually, I am going to be fitted on Thursday when I go to the oncologist. Still very sore, and probably won't be able to use for a while but will have it done! That is when I find out if I have to do chemo IV. I already am taking a pill and will have to take for 5 years they say. But if that's all I am thrilled also. My baby sister did the same surgery, but is getting reconstructed at same time. Hers was day before mine. She doesn't have any muscle loss or have to take any chemo, so prayers are answered for her and I am so glad! We are very close in heart and that helps! We are about an hour away from each other so don't see each other much, but talk almost daily. She'll be going back to work in a week or so. If I don't have to do chemo I'll be able to go back at the end of June hopefully. I do apologize for not seeing the post sooner. Haven't been able to garden so haven't been on much lately. Actually not even on until the last week. Thanks so much for thinking of me and know that I am hanging in there, staying postive, and have a whole new outlook on life! Hug to all, Melinda

Lainey, I'm glad you're mistaken too but seriously, there is not much time and I hope that everyone who can sends a card quickly to Papou, though it won't get there in time for his Sunday birthday. "A tradition at my DDs college is a dancing around the maypole nude on May 1st. Most of the kids watch, not too many dancers and maybe only topless. My daughter thinks only weird people take part." Oh, that's only a ritual that was documented by the Romans when they invaded Britain, IIRC, although I can't lay hands on the reference now. No big deal. It was revived in the Sixties. Many campus Pagan groups now get permission to organize and perform the ritual, unless stomped on by the "my religion is better than your religion" types - done properly it's a very intricate dance that takes practice. Some choose to perform this worship event fully "skyclad", others choose not to. Even though I'm an adult, pushing forty, and look more like Kathy Bates than Kathy Ireland, I've stripped off for a couple of Maypoles. Tends to still be pretty chilly in New Hampshire on Beltaine (May 1, one of the main holy days of the year) though so I prefer to dance cloaked or drum for the dancers if I'm not physically up to it. But then, I admit rather proudly to being a "weird person"!

Saturday update:I did call Patti, this morning, and this afternoon, leaving a message the first time. Told her we at the KT miss her, and if she or a relative has the time, to please call me. I also sent an email the other day. Prayers for Patti and hoping we will hear something.

Glad you're into the new phase, Cin...don't over do, but take care and so what you should! :) Here's a hug from Illinois...I'll be back in Fl next week and email you then, meanwhile...you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Okay guys you better watch out the new bionic cindee will transform her entire yard into a beautiful tropical jungle. She will be jetting all over for plant swaps and stuff and if you see a blurr zooming near and think it is a hummming bird look really close it will be Humming Cindee! Glad things went so well and welcome home we miss you. Linda

I spoke to Cindee today and she sounds like she's hurting more than the last surgery. I was in the grocery store so it was hard to hear her and her phone was breaking up. I did get that she had more staples than last time. I'll keep you posted if I hear more.

Cindee, when you get the opportunity to read this know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers, It has been my pleasure meeting you and knowing you. I do hope that your hips heals quickly and that you can return to your garden and this site soon because the people here miss you and your wit. You are a treasure. Take care f yourself. Linda

HEY HEY HEY!! Here I am! Surgery went a lil different this time. Turned out I had a crack in my pelvis so he had to patch and add another pin-hence more pain and staples MsM! But all is well. Was starting to recover nicely then started getting stabbing pains in the middle of the night and when I tried to stand...back to the Doc. Seems my sciatic nerve got in the way and was sending sharp pinges all up and down my leg. Cort shot in the butt and I am now moving from Walker to Cane gradually. Even went on a road trip to Publix today, my first real outing since surgery. Staples get OUT on Tues. Barb and Jan come to visit Monday...I am getting used to walking upright without tipping over...LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!! love ya all for thinking of me!
