I want to see other folks webpages. It doesn't matter what it's about. I've been looking to see if people have their page listed in their GW profile, but I know I've probably missed a few.

I'll start it off with mine. Not the reason I started this =) I am really just curious to see what other people have done. I still have a bit of work to do to mine, and once I get a camera (hopefully next week) there will be a bunch of pictures to show the stuff I am talking about.

Hi Tim,
Great Thread and I loved your website. I have been thinking about putting one together for awhile. I still need to find a host. Do you use the one that you had a link to or is that just for the html?

I've got a link to some miscellaneous pictures that I uploaded to webshots. One of these days, I'm hoping to put them all together into a cohesive format like "from start to present" (note I didn't say finished!) and again according to species groups.

YAY! Thanks guys! I just love looking at pictures. Hopefully someday mine will be half as pretty! I love the shots taken from further back, where you can see the whole plant, not just one bloom. Flowerfan, some of yours are huge! Is that just one clematis? How old are they? Buyorsell, I didn't know that Asao sometimes double bloomed like that? Or were my eyes playing tricks on me? Your homemade trellis are gorgeous. That "wall of blooms" pic was so beautiful! I can't wait for blooms. (Miguel will tease me for my impatience, but I can't help it!)

No by the way you just described your system its the same. Sorry to disagree, but the lift the head and slap the gasket mentality is often rewarded north of the border too. In both countries the same double standard applies, get away with cutting the corners and the tech is a hero, have one fail and the tech gets to do it over again for free. Have more than one fail and the tech is considered a hack and will find himself out on the street, while the guy in the stalll next to him continued doing the repair the same way. I'll agree that someone who isn't fast enough is gone in a hurry, but its more like if the tech takes four hours to do a three hour job consistently, even if he/she never has a comeback, they will find themselves on thin ice. I definitely know how it works and how it is twisted into something evil that it was never intended to be. In one line you state "You don't know how it works. the dealer pays us. NOT the customer. I've eaten alot of time. It happens to all of us. The customer DOSEN'T pay extra. I loose it on my pay." Your making my point with that sentence. As far as Ford goes, I love my Fords. But ten years ago they were among the greatest abusers of flat rate. There is a website, flatrate.com devoted to technicians who were fighting the O.E's over fraudulent labor times. At one point Ford would pay just over eight hours for the R&R of a long block in an F150 4X4. To get the time under 12Hrs top techs figured out that removing the cab allowed for sufficient access to everything that it was faster than following the book. Amazingly, removing the cab shaved about four hours off of the time "doing it by the book" BTW. In a direct challenge, the techs were going to assign a technician to do a particular repair from a known group of technicians, and from a general range of repairs of which known labor operations applied. Ford could pick anyone off of their time study team and then once it was set, we got to announce what the actual repair that would be performed would be. The specifics of the challenge were that both the labor study tech, and the mastertech would learn what repair was to be done, and then they both would do that repair simultaneously. In the challenge it was stated that the chosen master technician would complete the repair correctly, while noting the labor operation time was unreachable because it was too low. But it was also stated that the master tech would complete the repair faster than the time study technician. Logic dictated that if the labor time was correct and fair, the time study person should be able to do the repair in that amount of time allotted. After all, this would be the person who created that labor time. If the time study mechanic completed the repair within the time allotted, whether the master tech beat his time or not it was to be accepted by the techs challenging the labor ops system that they would drop their complaints. If the techs won the challenge as described, then Ford had to correct their labor times to at least the times that were routinely achieved by master technicians from all around the country. There was one more stipulation, the challenge was to be viewable live on the web, ten years ago this was easily within Fords capability. I was one of the technicians that the Ford techs would put on the floor for some specific repairs, I was also the author of "The Challenge". Ford did not accept the challenge and in face to face meetings they started to explain the use of "wrench time" as part of the calculation strategy. In simple yes or no questions, they would not admit that anyone could actually ever complete repairs in the times allotted, and they even went as far as to say those times are for controlling their costs as to what they pay the dealers for a specific warranty repair. The times they pay are not intended to reflect a technicians pay for doing that repair. Hmmmmmm.....

Ah, I had a feeling someone would mention that blog, hah. But it's not usable for me. :/ The pictures are way, waaaaaaay too small (like seriously, a 240x320px image on my monitor is about 7cmx9cm), and the the layout is now broken in my browser. That's why I prefer to view the original threads on GW... isn't there any GW post that just has a bunch of links to various people's finished kitchen threads?

I don't know a lot about digicams yet Peggy. Like I said I don't have a camera yet hopefully in a week I'll have one so I can show a whole bunch of pictures like ya'll.

Uh I just chesked an saw that I don't have my host linked. I meant too thanks for the reminder WRF. My host is 50webs. I haven't had any problems with it. There are so many free hosts out there I looked through a lot till I decided on this one.

Are you asking about the link at the bottom of the left navigation column that says Gear Mui Caliente? If so that is a link to the home page of the html editor I use it's called HTML Kit. I'm always recommending it to folks that don't already have an editor =) It's free an it has all kinds of plugins to get for it as well.

I have no affiliation with either of these other than I use them an find them useful.

Hi Tim,

I only had a minute and just quickly looked at your link for Gear Mui Caliente. I didn't investigate so I wasn't sure if they were your web host in addition to being a html editor. I'm definitely going to give it a try and I am definitely going to check out 50webs. That is if I actually ever finish the work that I am supposed to be doing instead of playing on gardenweb. LOL.

Thank you for the links and the information! Hopefully, real soon I will have my page up and running so I can actually post it! :)

No problem WRF. Whenever you get around to putting yours together, and you need some help fell free to ask. I'm no pro but i've picked up a few things. And from what I've seen of other gardeners sites there are some folks that are very good at it.

Tim ~ Your website is really nice. Look forward to seeing pictures from you once you get your camera. You'll get addicted to using your digi camera. I love using ours.

Mistiaggie ~ I enjoyed your website also. It's always neat to see other peoples flowers, homes, etc. I did not like that snake in one of your pictures. YIKES! Have you been to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary? That place is really cool. We went a few years ago and reall enjoyed the primitive atmosphere and the peacefulness. Some old Florida still left.

I do have my own website, which is where my pics, etc. are all stored. I use a program called Note-tab Pro for making web pages, using html code. I just updated some pages this past Sunday and it takes hours but it is exciting and fun. I still have some work to do with text as I changed things and see that the text under pictures is not as large as I'd like it to be, so that we can read it. : -)

My DH got into computers first and he got me started and now we're both addicted. He has inspired me and encouraged me and given me some help when I need it. He thought of the name FlowerLady for my online name as I am always out in the flowers. Some of my pages are several years old and I don't have some of the same flowers, others have taken their place. I do have more pages to make and upload to website, as time permits. I work part-time managing an antique shop, and am out in the garden as much as possible when I'm not working, then there's a thing called housekeeping, I call it homecaring, and it's also something I'm working on as we declutter our tiny cottage.

Let's see more web sites as I really enjoy visiting them and getting ideas. There are lots of wonderful gardens out there and wonderful gardeners that have worked on them. Each one is a work of art. Mine is humble and a continual work in progress.
