A few blooms,I didn't save many photos this morning

I took almost 100 pictures and most turned out horrible looking,so I discarded most of them,I went out early this morning and thought I would be smart and take photo's before it gets so hot.Well,that didn't work as m ost of them was not open even half way.So I came back in and went back out 2 hrs later.Still was a bunch just half open.Nothing wanted to co operate this morning. Several Pinks looked Red in my photo.My yard is total sun from daylight till around 6 now, when the house and huge trees in the neighbors back yard, then my front yard is shady.Oh well, heres the ones I kept.Might go back out at sundown and take more photos.

I hope this one will open up one of its blooms before it is finished for the year as Its so pretty and I love it, but this is the 5 bloom and it just wont open.

Thats it for right now.Hopefully I can get some better photo's of some of the ones I deleted this morning.Thank you Rita for my beautiful daylilies.I love them all.

Jean, that first one is not DRAGON KING. Looks like CHERRY VALENTINE. Sorry that WONDER OF IT ALL is not opening. Only about half the flowers opened here so I figgured it would like the hot south. All the others look great, especially JUST KISS ME and FANCY FACE.

Beautiful flowers. Celebration of Angels is picture perfect. Wonder of It All should eventually open well, probably just needs some time to get settled.

Your plants look great. They must have like the extra fertilizer you gave them, lol. Maybe I need you to haul me a load of it down here, lol. I can't get my banana to grow. Should it be sprouting by now? I have been keeping it moist and in full sun and planted it in topsoil mixted with composted manure and perlite. What did I do wrong...boo hooo. The iochroma bloomed though but did it while I was gone so I didn't get any pics dangit.

Alexa.....the sad thing is....the picture doesn't even come close in showing it's real beauty....in full sun...I have a terrible time getting any yellows to look correct. You will be very happy with Emerald Splendor...it is really nice. Roger.....Thanks..I will give it a try...:) msrose....your pic of Early Days is perfect...that is what it really looks like....isn't it such a gorgeous colour....almost like watermelon...thanks for posting yours...:) Nancy....glad you enjoyed them....Contential Holiday is an FFO for me...it looks like it will end up being a nice keeper...hopefully it will start really showing it's stuff....I'll try taking a little bit later pin the morning pic of it. I was straight out all day deadheading the roses because the japanese beetles are destroying all the pretty blooms, so this is the first time I've had a chance to THANK YOU all for your comments. The forum is moving so fast these days that I want to comment on every post but it's hard to keep up. Just wanted to thank all of you who are posting photos also because I know how time-consuming it is to upload and post. Nat...yes I grow hostas too and have for years. I often overlook them because they are so low-maintenance but I have quite a few. And I haven't dared to count how many daylilies I have acquired in just 2 seasons, but it's enough to fill 7 raised beds that I had to make. Thanks for the nice comments about my 'boys' too....of course I think they are the most handsome guys on the planet...LOL. Celeste

Rita, You are Right about the first one.It is CHERRY VALENTINE. It wasn't on my list of photo's I was taking this morning,and I forgot I took that one yesterday evening.It is a beauty.Then today when I came to Dragon King, I couldn't remember its name,and I went backout looking for it,and couldn't find it, so I deleted the photo and thought next time,I will remember where its at. When I went out just now, looking for CHERRY VALENTINE,I found my DRAGON KING, and thought oh my, thats the one I deleted.I will do better soon,I PROMISE.

Is the first one maybe DRAGON'S EYE instead of DRAGON KING? That's what it looks like to me.

With pictures,although I use digital,I NEVER hold the camera at arm's length - I always hold it right up to my face. That's because digital cameras have minds of their own, and sometimes they want to focus on what they want to focus on. Before shooting, I always push the shutter half way down to make sure that the camera is focusing on the bloom instead of back focusing on something else. That might help a little bit if you are using a digital with the auto focus features??

Jean, WOIA may do better on re bloom.. Mine opens well but I don't have blooms on it yet! I love C O A too and that's the first time ( except Rita's ) I have seen of JKM in someones yard! I like it!! Look for more rain in the next couple of days.. I'm having lots of out of town company and don't cha know, rain expected! LOL!! Ellie

Floota; Yep,I done it again and have the wrong name on the first one.The right name for it is CHERRY VALENTINE. Rita, corrected me on it,and I knew she was right the minute she said it is NOT DRAGON KING.. I do use a Digital Camera, too,and it does have the auto focus on it.If it didn't , my photo's would probably be a lot worse :)I do not hold it at arms length, but don't hold it right at my face either.I probably have it 10 inches from my face most of the time,and hold my arms in close to my body to be able to hold the camera more steady.Too much trouble to get the tripod out,and I imagine the neighbors and passer bys think I am nuts anyway, out taking photo's of flowers. I can use all the help I can get to take better photos.

I love JUST KISS ME, it is a favorite daylily of mine. Last August I moved just about everything around and now I can't even remember were I planted it. I guess I will be surprised when I see it bloom. I know its here somewhere.

I never use a tripod either. Jezz, it takes me long enough as it is just going around snapping the pictures when things are blooming. If somnething is fuzzy, I just take another picture. Lots of my pictures get deleated also LOL!

Love all your photos, The first one is a beaut!!! Celebration of Angels is my fav here, but then there is Fancy Face>> Love it too!!! I too take pics first thing in the morning before work and then run home to take more!!! It was in the mid 80s today!!! The scapes are popping up all over the place!!!!

I too just love that CELEBRATION OF ANGELS. It is not a unique color but there is just something about it which I like!
