Enough snow ?

There's a full sized garden bench under there, somewhere!

The driveway and walks require clearing yet again ... just wake me up when spring arrives, lol!

We got dumped on and drifted in once again, too.

The one thing that keeps me from losing it though, is the thought of my new shrubs being nicely insulated by all the snow.

Hmmm. I'll wake you when spring comes if I'm out of hybernation before you =:)

I might have to wake up both of you.
It's mostly fluff, [good insulator] but doesn't amount for much water.
But I shouldn't complain, looks already better then last year, ....I'm
shooting for double amount.

I was sorry so many things in my yard looked so bad by the time my family got here, but my younger granddaughter from California was really fascinated to find the birdbath frozen solid. She said they never get ice where she lives. I'll do anything to entertain my grandkids! (almost) Hope you're all thawed out now. What lovely weather! The brugs all look like I hung out dirty scrub rags on sticks.

thats ironic regarding the stakes. I am using a new service this year and they put in their own big wooden stakes along the edges of driveway in November. However, that made no sense to me because the stakes got in the way of pushing snow back where it needed to be pushed back. For the first snow of the season the driveway and turnaround were very narrow already. It needs to start out well back to allow for seasonal "creep". So they came back last night to re-assess and fine tune the plowing. I said its okay to remove the stakes so you can widen the plowing area properly. But they just went to the other extreme. Hopefully, I can train them to get it "just right" in the future. LOL Down by the road they were probably trying to distribute the snow in a large area and avoid a huge mountain so that I would not have a blind spot exiting the driveway. Good intentions. Bad implementation. sorry... I'm rambling, whining, venting.. One of these days I'll get a snowblower and do it myself. Or move to a condo!!!

"Shake and Bake" refers to the nickname given to the state of California, which it is not only named for, but it is the state flower for :) California is often referred to as "Shake and Bake, USA WELL DUH!...lol, FANNA WHO IS Hysterical laughing at herself for FORGETTING THIS FACT about Callie! See I am afraid to TRY any Poppy for breadseed because what if someone sends one they THINK is safe and it isn't? JASMINE, I ACCIDENTLY TYPED THE WRONG NUMBER! All is WELL it WAS Margos I was working on and since I believe I meanted the gift she gave me it was clear it was just a slip of the finger or brainwave or something along those lines..... Lisa I stayed up last night til 5:00 am or would that be stayed up this morning til? Oh well, which ever that is what I did. It is just a matter of me bring ODC and can't stop until I feel HAPPY with the results....lol!!! WOW you all are sending in some REALLY REALLY good stuff!!! Wendy, thanks for my GIFT...I will be on a CHOCOLATE high tonight, haha! That was so sweet of you to think of me, thanks again. And now third kitty bed made in large kennel and YAH she likes it. If they are not going to sleep in the pretty soft warm glass house I made for them I will take it down in spring. Brats. I did break the kennel loose from the ground in the Catico. Then I brought it into the house by the front door on vinyl mud ice and all and worked on it. I had to take it apart to get the cardboard box inside it. Box wrapped with the emergency blanket like a present. With cut out in the front for entry. Fluffy pillow in bottom. And I set the inside box up on a folded box in the bottom of the kennel for insulation. Topped the inside box with a king sized pillow wrapped around it and draped a blanket down over the front to stop some of the drafts. She can still see out a little bit. As expected I put her in the new bed and she sat there a minute and left. I waited a little bit and she is back in there. Hopefully four beds three cats every one has a warm place to sleep. 18 degrees out there now and snowing again. I see no point in walking to the post office today even if my P O box is full. Maybe tomorrow. We are supposed to get three inches of snow today so I will have to plow tomorrow I can drive to the post office with the plow tomorrow.

We have drifts of snow on part of the roof that stick out a foot past the eaves. They hang down sort of like Konrad's tree.

So, in answer to your question, Yes, Enough Snow Already ! =:)

The snow pack has really dropped with having received several days of temps up to + 11 C and a couple episodes of moderate rain. Being up in the rolling hills near Spruce Grove, my temps are often that of or warmer than recorded in downtown Edmonton. What had been a deep 3 ft blanket of snow, this has now been reduced to about 2 ft ... thankfully, there won't be so much to melt away come March ... well, who knows what's still ahead!

Back to the return of cold ... for now.

We got 8" last week and I can't even see the bumps where I covered my roses in the front yard - this makes me happy. :)

Here in MB next to the good old Red River we're worried about flooding this spring. I don't think my property would ever flood but it affects the whole community and local economy when it happens.

Today it was +2 and the snowpack slumped a lot.

Snow actually packed down enuff so I could go X/C skiing in the pasture. Hope to get out to the Blackfoot one of these days.

Yes, I think we've had enough snow! I just got a brand new 4 WD Honda CR-V. So driving in the snow is less of a problem. Love the new car. At 116" plus of snow, I could use a little breather.

These are the totals from a local TV station. I live about 25 miles south of Syracuse. We've gotten more than the 116".
