'Perfectly' decorated Home verses a Perfect Home for your Family?
Comments (66)I've enjoyed this thread so much. (Well, except for all those 'annoying' football comments. I mean really, let's get the over hyped Super Bowl out of the way so we can get on to the real sport...BASEBALL! Go Rangers! lol Auntjen, we are neighbors as I, too, live in the same county as Jerry World.) ahem...back to decorating. I'm a new real estate agent and one of my fascinations is seeing the inside of people's homes. I held an open house this weekend at a charming home. Talk about beautifully decorated! I so wish I could have taken photos just to show you guys the decor. (The RE photos don't show the decor like I'd like to show y'all.) After two hours of 'living' in the home, I was ready to go back to my more rumpled and comfortable home. lol I know the owners have 'staged' the home to be very, very nice looking and they are getting the right kinds of comments. I just know that for me and mine...we go for that 'creative' look. lol My goal, an ongoing, ever-ellusive goal, is to create a warm, inviting, and comfortable place to live that still delights my eye and artistic sense. That's possible, not perfect...and when it comes together, it is PERFECT. ;0)...See MoreSong lyrics that get your goat
Comments (60)Oh wow, anyone not familiar with R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet"? Where you been?? For those who don't know, it is a 12-part epic song that plays out like an opera (or hip-hopera) replete with various characters and complex plotlines. It was laughed at, parodied and discussed ad nauseum all over blogs, TV, music and the entire entertainment world throughout all of last year and cited as the worst - or at least the most hilarious - song of 2005. The videos are priceless. Many people love it purely for its cheesiness, the lyrics sound like they were made up on the spot in the studio. By accident. You have to hear it believe it. With lyrics like "Then I went up to the closet, and I got into the closet, now I'm trapped in the closet, and he's walking up to the closet." Here's a site which gives you the entire low-down: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trapped_In_The_Closet In the meantime, let me tempt you with some of these tour de force lyrics: ...he looks around the kitchen and says, "Something is really weird," and she says,"why do you say that?" he says,"cause you keep trying to get me out of here," he says, "Ever since I been in this house your face has change from white to red," and remember when I first walked through the door you acted like youve seen a ghost from the dead," And he says,"Girl if your hiding something I'm gonna be so mad," then he hears something falling he says,"What the f*#k was that?" she says,"Sounds like it came from upstairs sounds like the plumbing," he says, "woman that sound didn't come from upstairs I'll be d**n if you're up to something," he says, "now the sound that I just heard came from this kitchen," And he looks over by the stove while she's easy over by the dishes, and he walks over to the refigerator and pushes it back, and he looks her in the face looks like she's about to have a heart attack, and he notices the pie on the counter one slice is missing now the storys getting scary, cause he comes to realize that Bridgette's allergic to cherries, and he slowly looks at her while her face is red as hell, he's breathing real hard moving closer she says,"hon you don't look so well, and then he says, "Move" she says,"No" he says, "Move" she says,"No" "b**ch move!" she moves and then he looks at the cabinet, get close up to the cabinet, now hes at the cabinet, now he opens the cabinet, now pause the movie cause what I'm about to say to y'all is so d**n twisted, not only there's a man in the cabinet but the man is a midget......See MoreDew point verses humidity
Comments (19)richard, "Higher humidity in the mountains" is far from true in the arid West. where summertime air is usually quite dry. The Rockies, the Sierra Nevada, and other similar mountain ranges normally have dry air (humidity wise) when it's hot. as for "once the temp reaches the 'dew point' you have precipitation." I think yes and no. Precipitation used colloquially is used to describe rain and snow. While theoretically condensation of water vapor from heavily laden air is a type of precipitation, people (at least in my area) don't typically call it such. Stretches of the California coast have foggy mornings at times in the summertime and people tend to call it dampness or condensation or dew from the fog rather than precipitation. Sometimes, light drizzle from the fog, but not the word precipitation itself, people understand it's from the ground-hugging fog and not overhead clouds. When it warms up (and relative humidity drops to clear the fog) , there are usually blue skies overhead. Usage may vary....See Morevinyl verses fiberglass windows?
Comments (18)I would recommend fiberglass over vinyl. 10+ years experience with Marvin Infinity fiberglass windows. They continue to perform and look as they did when installed. The home next door is on their second set of vinyl windows within a bit longer time frame. Several casement windows installed in fiberglass were not available in vinyl. Vinyl did not have the strength to support the glass size when open. When comparing the dimensions of the glass vs the frame the fiberglass option for any size offered significantly more glass and less frame than the vinyl. And Marvin has released a new line with even slimmer frames. The Modern Line has denser fiberglass framing material for more strength to get slimmer frames. The OP hasn't received any first hand reviews of WeatherBarr vinyl windows. I would ask the company for customers to contact from 10 years ago. Ask them for their experiences. Window salesmen for the company are similar to car salesmen for this info. They got nothing. Here's a builder's experience with vinyl windows. Starts at 9:00 in-...See MoreShades_of_idaho
