another daylily blooming today

I have a lot of scapes, but only one bloom today, new.Hidden Riches has another Bloom, b ut,didnt take a picture of it.This one is KETCIA.and its a big bloom.

will just add a photo of the Red Alert Lilies blooming and a whole lot of scapes sticking up.

Jean, I like to take pictures of scapes too and can't wait for daylily season here. I see lots and lots of scapes in your picture so you should be having lots of blooms very soon.

The lilies look great and the pretty yellow daylily bloom makes me smile.

OOPS. Mis spelled the name of this daylily and put a T when it didnt belong there/ Its KECIA. The right way to spell it.

RITA: I like the pictures of scapes, too, but,didnt know if to post that picture or not, since I had already posted the lilies before, then I decided oh,I will go for ir anyway.I have a lot of scapes about to open at any time. Can't wait for them to blast open.

Hi, I have no blooms yet although one of my seedlings looks like it will beat everything else and bloom tomorrow. The top of the bud is split so I hope it opens all the way. I have buds on Emerald Eye, Yellow Bouquet, Cosmopolitan, Rosy Polyphemus, Mary Williams, Zona Rosa and Siloam Ribbon Candy. Some of these rebloomed for me last year so maybe I just have leftover scapes from that. I think Yellow Bouquet was quite early last year. I have many seedlings with scapes. The one that is about to bloom was a bee pod on Gordon Biggs from 2008. It was the largest pod I collected that year and had the biggest and most seeds in it. I decided if it was that determined to grow then I would start the seeds. It is probably a cross with itself. Another of mine with buds is Strawberry Candy x Ever Delightful. Some on seeds I purchased are Lord Trickster x Unknown, Cliffs of Abique x Wind Master, Admirable Curmudgeon x Doo Wop, Early Alibi x Coral Taco. Can't wait to see them!!

Another bloom on SARATOGA SPRINGTIME yesterday. I din't even bother to take a picture of it as it was down on the ground on the worlds shortest scape, just like the other shot. I also had a bloom on COUNT IT ALL JOY which is one of the 2009 intros of Karol Emmerich. Its one of these sort of counts scapes as the scape was there but much smaller of course when it arrived. That one I did take a picture of but my pictures from yesterday are not downloaded yet.

Oh gosh, where to start!? I just planted Dallas Star this Spring and it has bloomed, but not photo-worthy. In fact, I wondered why I wanted it in the first place, it was so un-impressive. But seeing yours gives me hope for next year! Piano Man was on last year's wish list, but I foolishly passed it up - can't imagine why! It just went back on my list, since your shot is so wonderful! Fancy Buttons is one I've wanted for a long time. Sure love your capture of the bloom. Just planted my Susan Weber this Spring, but looks like she will wait until next year to bloom. DEbbie;Do you have deer around where you live?DEER will eat the buds,and blooms,too,and most times will eat the scape, too.The Deer didn't get the buds on my daylily as its where they can't get to it.I have no idea what knocked the buds off mine.Whatever did it,the buds were not eaten,as they were laying on the ground.I had 2 more buds that disappeared yesterday.They not on the ground either.I have one bud left.Maybe it will get to open. Hey, scapes are daylilies and quite fair to be posted LOL! Besides the red lilies are very pretty. I have an entire row of them and can't wait for them to bloom.

Jean, I was thinking about posting my single scapes that are showing :) Looks like you have tons of buds. Love your lilies. The daylily is nice & bright, and big flowers are always great.

Rita,I hope you post pictures of your red lilies, too when they bloom.They are so pretty.I hate for them to run out of blooms.They are thick peddles on them, So much substance to them.
