Did you see the sunrise this morning?

Beautiful sunrise this morning. Hope that the weather today is just as nice. It is suppose to be 18C today and 22C tomorrow.

Yes, I did take about 30 seconds to enjoy it as I got ready to go into town. It was breathtaking!! Love the colours you captured in your pics.

That's lovely, Brenda. Our sunrise was pretty grey this morning - and wet! But it has cleared up and is a bit chilly out there now. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, though.

Hope Ian comes and sees this - he has lots of sunrise pics in his Webshots album.

Vera, keep us up to date on that puny little MG vine. Maybe it's a mutant. My Sunrise Serenade completely covered the vine pole, and then some; it cascaded down in every direction after it reached the top. It was truly exciting to see and enjoy. The seeds I sent you were from those flowers. I wish I had not deleted all of the pictures I took of it, but I consolidated my files when I did a back-up floppy to install on the new computer. Last year, I grew some Heavenly Blue and some Star of Yelta, and this year I had a couple of volunteers from those plants, so I'm letting them grow up the vine pole. I won't know what I have growing until the blossoms start. Mary

The color really is amazing some days. I know some looking at the pictures probably think the colors have been saturated by editing. But, the pics above are straight out of the camera. Of course, cameras add their own plusses and minuses, but, more often than not the colors are not as vivid overall in the resulting pics as what I see with my eye.

Never heard of Russel Brand, so can't comment, other than he did highlight how he thought it should be done. At least Joe S. wasn't there to interrupt every other sentence, as he is with all regulars and guests. We have been watching the show for years, but getting more and more frustrated with his musceling in on every conversation. He asks a question then interjects at every opportunity, obviously frustrating many people who are more versed in the subject at hand than Joe. His ego is taking a front seat.

Nothing. After a couple of hours' sleep, I was in the garden a bit before 8 (it rained some last night, but not muddy) picking regular peas and edible-pod ones, green beans and lettuce to take to the two churches that I attend, one at ten and the other at 10:30. After clean-up ... it was just 11 when I got out of here, dropped the tray of veggies at the 10:30 one just before service was over, got to the second just before 11:30, when not only service but much of coffee hour was over, with some heading home. So ... I had coffee and a few cookies just before noon. Canadians will know what "Tim-bits" are ... (Tim Hortons, nation-wide popular coffee house, carries donut holes, calls them "Tim-bits" which one can purchase as singles, by the few or by the box) ... well ... I've found that they have donut-holes at one No Frills store in town (and a couple don't seem to) so I bought a box and had several with milk when I returned home in the early afternoon. Did someone say, "Not very balanced and nutritious a diet, that"? Guilty as charged, I guess. A few days ago I put three heaping tablespoons of Cream of Wheat into a bowl with water and salt, microwaved it for 2? 3? min. Not enough water, I guess - usually it cooks around the edge, still gruelly in the middle, needs a stir and another shot. This time, it was thick and dry. It took me several minutes, after adding water, of gentle, stroking stirring to get the lumps cleared out. We've had a rainy, cool spring and start of summer, with crops delayed. I was pleased the other day to see that my turnips were growing well, but when friend and I looked at them today, some tops were drooping - they were rotting at the top. Little black bugs had got into them and several were soft and mushy inside, largely eaten away. We have a gardening guru on phone-in over province-wide section of national radio every Monday, but tomorrow's a holiday so he may be in on Tuesday, so I'll try to get through to find out what I need do to combat the little devils. Also, almost didn't plant cucumbers, as for three years their leaves have turned golden, then go brown and crispy - from blight, they say - just after flowering, when fruit is getting started ... but put some in ... and I see that the leaves of one hill are getting that golden cast, again. Good idea, Marcia. I would love to see everyone else's sunrise/sunset pictures.

Tomorrow in Brandon, it is suppose to be 22C (almost warm enough to start suntanning again). I suppose that means that it will be in the low 20's for you on Monday or Tuesday then, right?

My son is coming back from University in Winnipeg to Brandon to play football at 3pm tomorrow and I will be out there watching him play instead of puttering in the garden.

The forecast so far is for 17 tomorrow and 14 on Monday. The kids' garden club is planting tulip bulbs at lunch time, so it should be an excellent day for it. And maybe my Vesey's or Lily Nook order will be in - fingers crossed! :)

For me Sept 30 started with light drizzle.
October came in with a definite chill and a light flurry.
Looks like it will freeze here tonight.
I will have to bring in the canna lilies tomorrow.

One of these days i might wake up in time for a sunrise. Usually if i'm awake that early, it means i haven't slept all night. :( As it is, sunrise will be later and later in the morning now, so i may just be able to capture a shot.

No sunrises for me the last few days either. I have been so tired from building the deck that I have crashed out at 10:30 and not woken up until hub gets home (he's been working midnights).

Those pics are really beautiful.

I do Brenda...I will start a thread once I am all done. All thats left now is the spindles on the rails. That might have to wait until Saturday since I am back to work today until Friday.
