The First Hollyhocks to Bloom - Image Heavy

Annie

This one the honeybees created - It's a cross between my Pink Tasha Tudor HH and the white or cream. Note the fig leaves. That tells me on of the parents was my Tasha Tudor pink HH.

Is it lovely?

Dusk was drawing nigh, so the images are not as focussed as I would have liked.

Black Hollyhock - the blackest one I ever grew!

View of Black HH in the patio garden setting - you can hardly see it!

This one appears to be a cross between my Tasha Tudor pink HH and my Red HH. Note the tell-tale fig leaf it has. Only Tasha's Old, old strain had them. The modern ones have the rounded catcher's mitt leaves.

These are still forming bloom buds - they were a deep blood red last year. I got the seeds several years ago from Jani of Texas.

These are the only ones so far. The others are still growing and do not have bloom buds forming yet.

It will be interesting to see what I get this year.
