Hello conifer people,

Ken posted a photo of a white-tipped tree over on the Iris forum that absolutely knocked my socks off. I have never seen anything like that in my life. Since then I have been enjoying all of your photos immensely, and learning that my conifer options are a bit limited here in the hot inland of Southern California.

Before I start adding new conifers to an already crowded yard, I thought I might learn to care for the ones I already have. I know -pure genius on my part- hold your applause.

Hence this post. I cannot figure out what I have. As soon as they grow out of her little pots, my mom gives me these small chartreuse to lime green junipery thingies that smell like citrus. I love them. I have only successfully transplanted one into the ground, where it seems to be hanging in there in bright shade. Can you tell me what these are and the best way to care for them? Can I plant them in full sun in SoCal?

Your advice is much appreciated.

Renee
