Guess it is my turn for the Fs.... Farmers Market...Laurie and I at our table on May 23, 2008. Fireplace at Christmas time... I love the Front entrance of our house, the way the walkway winds and the trees and shrubs around it. F is for Fog. This is the view from our house looking over the valley in the summer. We never tire of seeing the Fog in the bottom of the valley. Sometimes it is so thick you cant see in the valley at all, all you can see is the other side. F is for Fishing. This is one of the many fish we caught this summer. Going Fishing is one of the best reasons to get me to temporarily leave the acreage and its flowers in the summer. and then of course, if it is a good day fishing, some Fish Fillets... Framed pictures. This old window is one that a friend of mine made up. He took these pictures, placed them in the old window and has sealed it such that no moisture can get at each picture, either from the front or back. He has a number of these type of old windows with pictures inside them hanging from his fence. I love them! Here is one of my friends garden signs with a Friends and Flowers saying.... Here is a Friend sign I painted a few years ago... Frozen Fruit (strawberries) taken out of the Freezer so I could make jam. Fun in the hot tub. Younger kids really enjoy it, even if they have to wear a life jacket! Fun on a tube behind our boat at the lake. Now, this is fun, for the older kids. We make them wear life jackets too! Field of crocuses at our friends place.... Frosted Jade Plectranthus is a new plectranthus for me last summer. Flickers have come here each spring for the past few years. Here is a Northern Flicker picking things out of my lawn. Flabellata Columbine is a miniature columbine with large bluish colored flowers. Family Jewels Daylily Feverfew Foamflower First Frost Hosta Forever Blue Iris, SDB Forever Violet Iris, SDB... French Wine Iris, MDB, is the first iris in my yard to bloom each spring. Funny Face Iris, MDB First Crown Lily Frontenac Rose on June 30. Notice the leaves on this picture compared to the next one. Frontenac Rose on July 3. 4 days later. So, the difference between the leaves....anyone know what has damaged them? Fuldeglut Sedum With Sempervivums I am trying to get individual side pictures, top pictures and clump pictures of each variety. Pretty sunflowers. Cute little bee on the first one. Brenda, I am sure I will be ordering more daylilies next year, once I see what happens with my garden this year. This year we are trying to concentrate on the back around the deck area. I thought these little ones would look good along the walk at the bottom of the steps, with lavender mustead, maybe. Once again, I tried to avoid posting pictures of perennials/misc that I have posted in previous years in the Gallery. So, be sure to go back to last years Ps for more P pictures from my garden. Speaking of keeping track of the perennials in a person's yard and how many a person has...I think I have mentioned this before in previous threads... I have a database in my computer where I keep a running list of all the perennials/plants/trees/shrubs/bulbs in my yard....now up to just over 2300. I have a column for the name of the plant, one column for its location in my yard, one for its height and width and one for a description of the plant. Lastly, the most important column is the one where I input the year I got it, the price I paid and maybe its regular price, from where or whom I got it from, its hybridizer and year registered, the zone it can officially grow in (I grow a lot of zone 4 plants in my zone 2b garden), months it is to bloom in, and dates I took a picture of it. This database has proven to be invaluable to me. Often I refer back to it when wanting to know how many years I have had a certain plant, whom I received it from or where in the yard I planted it. On to the P's.... Here is a picture of the Pear Slug I found on my cherry tree on Sept 20th. I will definitely be on the lookout from now on for these little guys. Puppies are always cute, no matter what breed. Here, these puppies mom is a border collie cross and the dad is ???. Now for some plants..... Pastelline Daylily was new to me in 2007. Pink Damask Daylily Pink Playmate Daylily Popeye Daylily Prague Spring Daylily Prairie Belle Daylily Prairie Blossoms Daylily is a daylily that Laurie and I got in the spring of 2006. She has used hers in hybridizing in 2007. Mine didnt bloom until last summer, 2008, and I had others I wanted to use for hybridizing instead. But, I love the two toned flowers on this daylily. Pink Double Delight Echinacea I bought new last year. I am hoping that it will make it through our winter. Pewter Veil Heuchera Patricia Hosta really filled out this year. It is now 5 years old. Paul's Glory Hosta is only one year old. Painted Desert Siberian Iris Pele Iris, SDB seems to change in coloring in its thumbprint. This is the flower from 2008. Here is its flower from 2006. Pippi Longstocking Iris, SDB is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Pixie Princess Iris, SDB Posing Iris, SDB When I divide my Prince of Burgundy Iris, IB it quickly sells out at my sales. Well now, its funny you both should ask that as I was looking at some other posts and noticed a similar looking flower but with different names. I even went and checked the tag that came with it (from Vesseys) and it clearly says, Prairie Joy. Oddly enough, when the buds formed they were red, when it first opened it was a dark pink and then looked like the above picture a few days later. I'll post the different stages when I get home tonight. I expected a pink as well. It was just put in last summer and it had quite a few flowers - one late into October.

What do you think? Did I receive yet another plant tagged incorrectly?? Hard to complain cause it is rather pretty but now I'm worried it will be a lot bigger then I wanted :/ .....sigh!

I'm sure you got a mislabeled rose. Email Veseys and tell them your FN gardening buds told you that you got the wrong rose and that you didn't realize it at bloom time. Veseys guarantees that you are completely satisfied. Email the photo along with your order confimation and see what they have to say.

Although its pretty, its NOT what your ordered.

I could show you pictures of the 'Renovations' we have done to the house and yard but I wouldn't know where to start...windows, deck, siding, insulation, basement floor, basement walls, basement ceiling, stairs, kitchen, living room walls, sunroom, furnace, water cistern, etc, etc. Plumbing, electrical, you name it. It is a totally different house (except for the pukey-pink colored bathroom and a few other things that are still original in color).

I also realized that I have never taken a picture of our raspberry patches or the rhubarb plants. This summer....

Hey Sharon, thanks for the advice! I heard from Veseys yesterday and they agree that I received the wrong rose. They've put a credit through for me. They figured it was a Kaleidoscope...what do you think? (of course I'm going to go with the opinion of the forum!!)

Man, FN buds are the best...always looking out for each other : ) I would have just left it thinking, well, I did get a rose....

..oh boy, more ordering to do!

Yup, it's probably Kaleidoscope Rose since they carry it in stock. Good to hear you got a credit. If a company is going to advertize a plant in a catalogue it better well be the correct plant they send then. Veseys is pretty good most times for making their customers happy.
