Here's why I missed the gig at Annie's (pix)

The potager is planted. And right nice, I might add. Even though the tiller got in about 10 inches, I double dug the tomatoes down an additional 14 inches using Earl's Hole Method (I'll provide a link below). I didn't dig as deaply for the 6 head of early Dutch cabbage, Blue Lake beans, Swiss chard and green peppers, but they have been properly dug. I put marigolds around the perimiter too keep certain bugs at bay. I covered the entire bed with about 5 inches of straw, pulling it away from the new plants about 3 inches. I watered well and then had a stiff drink.
