I thought you might like to to know there is no email link on your member page, thus no way to email you. To set up your email, just go to the bottom on any page here, and click on Member Pages Then click on Edit your Personal Information, Page, and Preferences You will then probably be asked to login in again. Then check the box Allow other users to send you email via forms at our site. That will place a link on your member page. While there editing, you may want to fill in your state abbreviation. Unfortunately, I don't have any pear :( I'd really like to get some European pear for winemaking, but I hear they don't do well in the PNW weather. If you do bring any scions to the GE, the best approach is to cut them in the morning, and put them in a jar of water for the trip so they don't dry out. Cuttings should be last year's new growth (the pieces you'd probably be pruning anyway) generally around the width of a #2 pencil and maybe 10-12 inches in length. Personally I probably wouldn't need more than 2-4 scions of each variety, only because some of my grafts don't take, so I figure if I graft several I'm likely to have at least one survive :) Best, Keith

for cuttings trades, I recommend fruitiers.net (my user name is episag) Not too many of us in Canada, but you might be able to find some cuttings for free. I, myself, have a few cuttings of some disease resistant varieties I could provide (but not much, my trees are still small). My dad has a big Norland, so that one I could provide in bigger amount, except it is an early august apple that only last a month when you pick it up early and keep it in the fridge. Thanks Bon- when you talk about budding- are you referring to t-budding? if yes, should the buds be harvested from dormant wood or should the bud be harvested during growing season. if the latter, presumably, it could still survive 2-3 days in the mail if wrapped in moist paper? am happy to try and gaft using the budding technique. anyone willing to trade/sell me some budwood?
