Ignoring the new grafts and seedlings, I guess the smallest one would be a J. horiz. 'Blue Pygmy' I bought recently.... anybody here got an older one ?

Pseudotsuga menziesii 'Dandy Doug' isn't that small, it will grow about 5 cm. per year.
Your plant is doesn't look healty to me, certainly when it's 4 years old, it looks to me as a one year old grafting.
This is the one at my Pinetum, also 4 years old.

The pinus strobus 'Julian Pott' at my Pinetum grows about 3 cm per year which is one of the slowest Pinus strobus cultivars in my opinion.

I'd say your 'Dandy Doug' specimen simply needs time. There isn't much green on the plant to take in sunlight - once it gets a little bit going, it should take off. I'm with Edwin, it looks like a brand new graft, are you sure of it's age??

And by far my smallest, slowest growing conifer:

Picea abies 'Wichtel'. Evidence points to this plant approaching a decade old and about the size of a baseball.

Hey firefighter.....I'm 100% positive of the age. I installed it for years ago' It also was a 2 year graft. Soooo according to my math it is approx 6 years old. Maybe I will remove it...pot it up. I want to see if the roots are all snarled up.

I've got one that's growing as an average, 1/2" a year, Pinus strobus Sensei... one I named and only propatated a few grafts of during 2007 - now only one living. I was able to clip a scion for Hermsen this past winter. I hope we can keep it alive... don't know the result yet if his graft was successfull. I should have propagated many more but I was told prior the broom was fast-growing and, also, very plain. This one is very slow, but not as slow as Wichtel.

Very largest shoot on entire broom... it's the terminal shoot: 3/4" growth. Much I found to be 1/4" (nursery ribbon tag is 1" wide):

.75 inches = 1.9 cm
.5 inches = 1.3 cm
.25 inches = .6 cm

Many times the problem is that the scions used for grafting are to small, then there's to less energy in it to grow and the yearly new growth is a minimum.

I prefer to take a "cross" which is a 2 year old scion with a leader and 2 or 3 side branches with is full of energy which is needed for a good start.
The next year you have a nice little plant allready which otherwise will take years...

Unless you know the ultimate habit and growth rate of any given conifer, it's no use trying to judge the plant at the one or two year old grafting stage. As Edwin says a lot depends on the initial material used, plus most will attain additional vigour after a few years regardless.

I was just adding what I have. The stem thickness is the same as when I grafted it, minus a few mm I suppose. I'll repost in 10 years, sound fair ;-)

Dax, your 'Sensei' isn't a true Pinus strobus witches'broom in my opinion, it looks more like a Pinus flexilis to me.
It's needles are to thick and the needle colour is to dull for a Pinus strobus...

Still put some quiestion marks at your broom Dax.
Like I said before, the needles are differend and also the colour is.
Pinus strobiformis is also possible...

here are a few of my littlest of the little. At this point I have no room for anything other than mini's (until something dies).

Known as Abies lasiocarpa 'Duflon,' I had a conversation with Don Howse once who thinks it's probably Abies Grandis. All I can say is that it doesn't look like any other of the lasio's in my collection.

While we're on the subject of controversy, here is what's known as Picea glauca 'Blue Planet.' Most, myself included think it's actually Picea mariana. What do you guys think of that long shoot to the left? Reversion, or weirdness? I think I'll let it go for a year and see if it clumps up.

One of the smallest pines on the block, Pinus nigra 'Pipouniou.'

This one's an absolute gem. I may get a centimeter of growth this year at the most -- Pinus parviflora 'Richard Lee.'

Here's one last photo from last year. When the broom was grafted, the needles were all long. Now they haven't grown to any such lengths. I could be wrong, yes, but when the needles are completely done growing each year, the color is white/blue-green. I mean really white-stomata on the tops of (some/many) of the needles, such as you would see, with the better-colored seedlings/grafts of Pinus strobus.

Abies 'Duflon' couldn't be an Abies grandis cultivar, it's colour is to blue and the buds are typical of an Abies lasiocarpa.
I think you mean Abies concolor var. lowiana 'Igel' which could be the same as Abies grandis 'Compacta'.

It's an reversion on your Picea mariana 'Blue Planet'.
All dwarf varieties of this species make some once and a while.

It's Pinus uncinata 'Paradekissen' which grows slowly indeed.
