Yahoo, Daylily Manor has 09 list up.

I've been checking daily and today's the day, Daylily Manor has the new price list up. What with the alphabet soup going, my list is growing.!!!!! Already ordered from Marietta, and Champion. My sister in law (my personal enabler) and I are planning a 4 hour drive to New York to visit Cottage Gardens. Just Gotta have them!!! WE are also driving 2 hours to Norwalk Ohio for Daylilies by the Pond and Willowbrook acres. This summer will be the great Daylily Tour of 09!!!

Hurry up spring, We need you, gotta get rid of this ice and snow. Cindy

Thanks for posting. I'm not familiar with Daylily Manor so will check out their listings.
I will also be going to Cottage Gardens but in May to pick up my order. Their garden is only an hour away from our place. Brent had several plants I wanted so thought I would go ahead and get them before the regional garden tour in July.
I also ordered from Melanie Mason- North Country Daylilies-this year. I am getting 4 of her registered daylilies. ROYAL FLOURISH which she is introducing this year is just gorgeous but I have to save up again for that one.:-).

If your up this way and you haven't already been to Grace Gardens - Tom and Kathy Rood - you may want to take a stop there as well. Their gardens are just wonderful.

Julia You are sooo lucky to be just an hour away from Cottage. I checked out both places you suggested. Really nice web sites especially Grace Gardens web site. May have to order. :) And North Country has MORE beautiful DL. Would have to add 4 more hours to trip :( in order to see them. We are just barely getting into New York, the other two places are on the other side. We looked into another place that's on the way to Cottage. Nass Farms, they don't mail out orders only dig at the gardens so its good that we can stop there. Thanks for the sites though, now I have to plan for more daylilies in my garden and that's a good thing.
I have big expectations for Cottage Gardens.

I was so happy to see nice new, fresh, white roots! Isn't that silly... but almost every division had them. There was almost no damage to the root and crown system. I think I am going to start asking the question... lined out or recently dug. For some reason the lined out seem to do so much better for me - maybe it is just one less thing the plant has to go through... digging, shipping, new soil, new climate... They usually all make it, but the lined out plants really take off and start multipling like crazy. Chris, Sorry!!! I forgot you were in MI! Burrrr.... I am so glad spring is here, I can't imagine waiting another month! Ack! But then, we did get a hail and wind storm last night. I didn't know it was possible to get ice chucks falling from the sky, when the temp. was 60 degrees! Texas.... I saw the other post about Patrons...wierd. Can you email me your suggestions for other vendors??? :o) Barb - Oh, just wait. You'll have a huge list by the time your done. Be sure to let me know if you make an order, I might want to add some more! And, if your order consists of $70 of $10+DL, shipping is free... I was thinking of getting Mask and Metaphor from Quarles... anybody have other suggestions for vendors??? You guys (ladies) ordered from Moon's Farm before? They are next on the hit list.

Good buys, Jan. I am really anxious to see pics of Talladega from your garden - hopefully you will get blooms next summer. Lucky you that you have so much room to keep adding daylilies. I added about 50 this fall and transplanted about 45 seedlings into flower beds. I am quickly running out of room and NO I am not making any more beds. Note to self: No more flower beds, no more flower beds... Thanks to everyone for their daylily photos and comments last summer. They helped me make my choices this past fall.I have only added 4 for spring, but think I have room for about a half dozen more. From the Stamiles I am buying Sir Francis Drake. Get Jiggy I have not been too bad on the LA, having bought only 2 (so far) Jennifer Trimmer Sherry Candy Ann

GOOD MORNING ALL, Ok I got the BigLots fever....found roses for 2 bucks each, got every color they had, some were climbing, and a bunch of other stuff I didn't need but just had to have.....(grin). Spent waaaay too much money between that and Wally World....seems that Wally World has stepped it up a bit as far as the variety of bulbs, etc. I got a few new Hosta's, DL's, Lily's, Dahlia's, Glad's, etc. Was able to get everything in the ground but the Glad's.... Going back today to finish blowing my budget..... Been without water for the last 2 days (off, then on, then off)....pipes in the neighbors yard burst. With all that heavy equipment, the bulldozer's, etc., can't get in my own drive... they think they've fixed the problem, then they are right back out here again to realize....it's not fixed. Then they have to dig everything up again, so no water for hours, it's been going on for 2 days and they can't seem to get it right....they are out this morning, again! They have made a mess in the yard, it's raining and mudd everywhere....Well, off to make coffee before the water gets turned off again. Everyone have a GREAT DAY! Jaye

Hi! We’re currently building our Northfield Manor (finally!) with a few modifications similar to the photos displayed on the Frank Betz website. Framing is complete with roofing, windows/doors and roughs starting this week! We moved the pantry door so that you enter via the breakfast nook. Does anyone have a photo of how they did any built-in shelving in there to maximize the space? Thanks in advance!

I live a half an hour from daylilies by the pond, located in Norwalk,OH. A awesome place to visit.
I purchased daylilies from Sara last summer.
Her daylilies are pretty! and her plants are healthy.

Karla, Great to hear your review on daylilies by the pond. Do you know anything about Willowbrook Acres? It looks like it is just minutes down the road from Sara. We are making the trip to Norwalk, looks like Sara has great hostas and iris also. I know if I were that close I would be there once a week just to see what was in bloom.!!

I beleive willowbrook acres, is down the road from Saras.I never visited willowbrook acres before.
I was just looking at Saras site and admiring all the daylilies and irises and picking which ones I need to purchase this summer.I just love looking at all those daylilies by the pond.So pretty!I could spend hours there admiring all the different daylilies.

I've been to Willowbrook acres. There is also another grower in Norwalk named Fran Houghtlen. Any thing I've bought from any of these places has done well.

I'm not sure where you're driving from, but my dad has a garden near Bowling Green, OH with around 900 daylilies.

Thanks Lisa for the info, Bowling Green is in the opposite direction, I live close to the Ohio/Pennsylvania border. Your dads place must be beautiful with that many. We went to Daylilies by the Pond, it was a rainy day, so didnt go on to Willowbrook, but we are going back and will stop at Willowbrook this time. I'll check into Fran too. Thanks again. Cindy
