Beautiful pictures. I love your flowerbeds and the variety of plants in them. I think the coneflowers look especially lovely with the daylilies. I was going to try putting in some liatris with mine so it was nice to see how that looked. Mind if I steal some ideas? Everything is just lovely. I envy everyone who sends pics of their gardens with coneflowers. I have tried many times to grow them, but they always fail--guess I should stick to d.lilies. Thanks everyone for the comments. Purple coneflowers are so easy for me to raise. They self- sow for me as well. I wonder if they are best suited for my climate here in Ohio, than where Avedon lives? For me they thrive on poor soil and little water! I hope you all will take my idea and plant them in with your daylilies.

I enjoyed the 'walk' through your garden. It was perfect for a morning like this (we had an ice storm overnight) and refreshes my soul. Of the daylilies, I have 'Holiday Party' and 'Jay Farquhar' but got them late in the season so I never saw them bloom. I was happy to see your pictures of them. I also like to incorporate coneflowers into my daylily plantings, as well as roses and other perennials. I love how the coneflowers bring butterflies from miles around! Thanks for sharing your lovely flowers.

Oh finally some doubles! I've been trying to get info on which doubles actually do double and haven't had much success. We are in the same zone so I will probably try and get some of the ones you have pictured. I hate when they only have some little extra thing in the middle and don't look like the hybridize's photo.
Can you tell me who is the red one in your first photo? It really stand out.

I really am glad to see which ones do well for you. I only have two that you have and last year was their first year with me. I have siloam peony display and gemini jack. I had better get busy buying! I have well over a thousand different dayliles and it never seems to be enough. I need therapy for sure. Thanks again, really loved seeing your pictures.

My favorite doubles are Gemini Jack and King Kahuna. I'll have to see if I can find them here. I didn't really like doubles at first but then bought one to see how I'd like it in MY garden. I bought Gladys Campbell.

Very nice pics of the doubles. Last year I was on a "doubles" kick and bought some additional ones. I already had 2, DOUBLE RIVER WYE and CHICAGO FIRECRACKER which grow great here. I added FIRES OF FUJI, ALABAMA WILDFIRE, CASTLE ROSE BELLE, DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU, FORTY SECOND STREET, PEACH MAGNOLIA, PENNY PINSLEY, ROYAL EVENTIDE and SUBURBAN POMPADOUR. These are going through their first winter here so we shall see what bloom season brings.
