What if you had 30,000? Tomorrow I will "create" 4 new gift Meyers... find large pots, get decomposed volcanic soil and perlite (not as easy as it sounds in the 3rd world), pot the young trees, prune them, wash every leaf one by one, add a soil drench of imidacloprid and Triazole, paint the trunks white, and then wait 2-3 weeks for a new flush to start, then begin a fertilizer program.... The people who receive these trees never appreciate the work and personal attention that has gone into making them as near perfect as possible. The minister of economy, the minister of agriculture, and the President of the Republic (Guatemala) are in love with their Meyers; so I guess that is some small reward.

True but u don't photo your trees one by one do u lol. I would love to have 30,000 trees :-) thanks I try to keep them healthy. And your right it is a lot of work to grow trees. Many of mine are seed grown but many are not the seed grown ones are young. In the end its all good fun.

Just happy to have them

Nice collection! I'm catching up to you though ; ) I really admire your citrus dedication to winter over that many trees inside! (I'm assuming inside from your zone) I don't think I'd have the patience to move that many in and out each year.

But we all tend to push the limits of our zone don't we, lol! I've got several orchids that should be indoors growing in the shade of the patio, they've done well, and have tried stephanotis outdoors for three years so far, without success, : ( But that's why we are gardeners, right? Pushing the envelope, lol!

I've got 20 citrus in pots, 5 in the ground. I'd love for all to be in the ground but I have a nasty gopher population. Still trying to figure out how to get the rest in the ground but protected. I'm not fully confident in cage baskets, they seem to rust out too soon.

I've heard dryer sheets will get rid of gophers. Put a few of them down their holes and they should go away, they don't like the smell or something.

Thanks Barb and all I have a green house this year last year living room was a forest lol. This year should be easier its all good fun to push the limits.
