Issues with Kalanchoe Blossfeldiana
Comments (3)Yes, pics would help immensely, though I suspect not enough light. Has it been repotted in 2 years? I wasn't sure if you are saying you also fertilize weekly, or just water? When you water, is there a drip tray catching the excess or do you take it to a sink?...See MoreKalanchoe blossfeldiana: Where to place outdoors?
Comments (8)Crenda, That is one of my fears in addition to burning the leaves, etoliation. I really don't want to burn it as I've already attached some sentimental value to it (Hubby bought me one with the same color flowers when we started dating... I killed it by leaving it inside in a very poorly lit room. I know more about succulents now haha). I guess it's a toss up between burning it or having it become leggy. I guess I could try giving it a bit more light by gradually introducing it and see what happens. I know I'll probably have to move it once it hits July, our patio turns into Hades and everything scorches >.Thanks for the photo, I love your kalanchoe. I think the more pale leaves is possibly normal, it seems to be happy either way with all those blooms! Planto...See MoreKalanchoe Blossfeldiana? Need help IDing
Comments (2)Toni, thanks for replying. So the plants are kalanchoe blossfeldiana? Right now they are in regular potting soil in plastic pots (no drainage holes). I do have some clay pots in the basement and just bought some cactus soil today. Is that what I should plant them in? Also, should I cut off the empty stalk and try to root the top part with the leaves? Or are they supposed to look like that (stalk empty at the bottom, and growing up and down and all over the place)? Comments (15)It's making smaller leaves now bc the warehouse that grows them pumps them with lots of fertilizers and stuff. Im in the FL Keys and I never have any small leaves unless yhat part the plant has gotten knocked off or got a kink on the stem. I have an 8×3' harden on each side of our front door. One side is nothing but difft types of Kalanchos and they get Big and bloom all at once for the hummingbirds to come in spring. But remember that everything you pull a leaf you have a potential for a whole new new plant or more. Its crazy o just stuck the leaf on top of an empty bottle and wait. Its cool how they make a whole plant from between the ridges. My neighbor brought me 3 leaves from Hawaii about 15 years ago. I'm now in engaged with them, but its OK, I give lots away and the key Deer don't eat it! Win for me. Good luck, I know its been over 4 years but I still thought I'd answer your question. I hope 2020 goes away fast, its Dec 11....2021 can't come fast enough ✌💚🍄🎅🎄 Happy Holidays everyone...See Moredufflebag2002
