not alot at the moment as of the time of year :( im using a couple of drops per litre with a little vinegar! yes it does look small but trust me its not, there isnt alot of root in there i think it must of got bad roots from overwatering from about 6 months ago and did a transplant! i keep it on a heat mat so i can keep it at a constant temp, i have had no leaf loss for a few weeks now. reagrds jay :)

Thanks for the help. It's been very hot in the mid 90's and humid. The last time we went to Florida, Baltimore was hotter while Florida stayed in the upper 80's. I will definitely fertilize it this evening at sunset. I've been checking it each day. It was covered in flowers when it was in bloom, and it looked like more lemons were developing before they were plucked off. I wish I could've caught the kid in action because at least I would still have some left. I really hope it will rebloom in a couple of weeks. I might move it in the back yard if I need to. My front yard isn't fenced in, but other people haven't had this problem. The day before this happened, a little girl was in my garden moving pots around and collecting slugs. (gross) When I came outside she ran out of the yard and went home. I have no clue where she lives. Patty I live in Dundalk which is closer south and closer to the water. Zone 7a is in the mountains and PA line which is northern Baltimore county. Ive checked the zoning map a few times and it says my particular location was 8a. I thought it was odd as well, but it's still way too cold in the winter. My zone 8 plants come back for me each year. Yes we do get snow in the winter but nothing as heavy as other parts of the county. My lemon will be indoors in the winter, and I will spray it with water every day. Hopefully it will do well. That tree is special to me.

Thought I'd post an update, since I got such helpful advice for my trees this past winter. All survived the winter indoors, even though, thanks to a lot of travel, I managed to dry them out pretty badly a couple of times, enough that the Trovita and the Bearss lost some leaves. Still, the Bearss actually bloomed and even set fruit. The Meyer bloomed off and on all winter, but never sent out any leaves and, when I set the four trees out about a month ago, still had not sent out a single leaf, since I received it. It had lost a couple of original leaves, but pretty much looked like it did when I received it last summer. Left two weeks ago for a long business trip and, while away the temps topped out in the mid-90's, unusual for New Hampshire, with heavy rains on a couple of days - basically hot and humid weather. Came back on Friday to find that all four trees are covered in new growth, YES, EVEN THE MEYER! There looks to be new growth from pretty much every leaf junction on the tree. And, it is blooming, again. The largest fruit on the Bearss is about an inch and a half long, so I'm hoping to have my first harvest this fall or winter. Maybe, I'll even have some other fruit, too? All-in-all, the trees look great, and I have to admit that they have not been babied in any way. My next two decisions are 1) should I prune to shape them (rather leggy), and 2) should I repot into larger pots? For #1 I am undecided. For #2 I am thinking maybe mid-July, once they flush out the new growth. I think I will check if they are root-bound and use that as my guide. We are headed into several days of rain. When we get a break I will fertilize them. So, in conclusion, for those who have cranky or 'balky' Dwarf Meyer Lemon trees in pots - don't despair. It took a year, but mine finally has sprung to life. Just give it lots of sun, water as needed and let the tree move at it's own pace. And, thanks to everyone on this forum, who gave me advice and support. I probably would have killed my trees without your help. If anyone is interested, I can take some digital pics and post them. narcnh

Your tree looks lovely. How your plant will respond to your repotting will depend on what you do. If you bare root it into a completely different medium like 511, it may go into shock. If you just upgrade it into a larger pot, lightly loosen the roots and add fresh growing medium, I don't think your tree will drop too many fruits. Maybe none because your tree will be happier. It may even drop some fruit naturally in the future because it can't support them all. Fruit drop may occur when you put it outside and something triggers it to drop some more for whatever reason. Meyers bloom all year if the growing conditions are right. If you lose a few with the repotting, you may get more blooms later after it settles down. Don't put so much emphasis on keeping the fruit, but rather on the health of the tree. I would repot it now and let it settle into its new environment. Spring is almost here and soon you will put it outside. New blossoms will be sure to be forthcoming then. I repotted my 15 year old Meyer lemon 2 weeks ago. It was severely root bound and blooming as well. I pruned 2" of roots off the bottom and even removed some around the sides. It has shown no adverse side effects. I admit that I live in middle GA and did this when we had a 2 week warm spell. I have also been taking my tree in and out of the house for some sun and fresh air since the repotting.
