I got some last year for the winter sale and this year and they did well. They don't look like much when you get them but have a really good root system and I just cut the pot off and repotted them and left them in the garage and in the spring I had clematis climbing the plumeria and blooming in the garage, lol. I planted them outside in the spring. For those in really solid freezing areas I would advise spring shipping though, lol. I had a bad week and been internet shopping way too much, lol. Have a migraine so I stayed home today. I just called Kylie to tell her about the sale and then I thought I should tell all of you as well since I know most of us like all sorts of plants and its a good deal with the free shipping right now.

I don't get any catalogs except Gurneys and after having to deal with their customer service last year I wouldn't buy anything from them again unless I couldn't find it anywhere else and wanted it bad, lol. I grew my first heucheras this year and really like them. The ones out back in Mercedes memorial garden are really dark marroon, almost black and the ones in by the front pond are kind of pink and lime mixed. One of them is coral bells but don't remember which, lol. I do most of my shopping online since we don't have many good nurseries around here and they mostly carry common stuff or want a fortune. Its fun to grow from seed or get small plants and watch them grow. I am really excited about the greenhouse so I will have room to start cuttings and seeds much earlier. The garage is cram packed with larger plants. Gonna go get some more screws and things and maybe finish the roof tomorrow if its not too cold. Otherwise we will work on it over the holidays. I'm gonna have clematis attacking when head when I try to water again this year but its a good deal and they can be planted out in the spring so whats a few more small plants, lol. The sale is usually every fall but this is the first time he ever offered free shipping that I know of.

Thanks for the link Kristy I am going to have to wait until after Christmas to order but I want in on the free shipping deal. LOL I wish you wouldn't have tempted me with this.

I can't let everyone else have all the fun. Every time I turn around one of you is posting some deal when I am broke, lol. Thought I would return the favor since I have dealt with him before and being able to do the later shipping date at the same price is a good deal for the people in the poor frozen north, lol.

Hey! I am one of those people in the poor frozen north, lol. I am glad that he will do the free shipping even if they ship later. Once Christmas is over and all the lights and stuff are put away it becomes like the never ending winter because then you just look forward to spring even though nothing can go outside until May.

Kristy you gotta look up bluestone perienals. You will fall over.....Your gh is so awesome. I wish mine was that big. You are gonna have so muh fun in it. We actually had fun building ours. I seen a post on gh forum where they just added a addition on instead of adding a whole new gh to it. I showed it to my fiance. LOL

Beautiful clematis for a great price Kristy, but I will pass. I've bought some before and they don't do well for me. The one that always came back, Niobe, I accidently pulled it when weeding and wasn't able to save it :-(

Eloise some do better than others in climates as warm as yours. Thats why I had Jerome pick the ones to send me. The ones they carry at Lowes and places like that aren't always the ones that perform the best in the area you live. I am all spent out but I'll get you one for Christmas next year and you can try it again. Kylie you know you can't pass up a good deal, lol. Shawn it won't be long til Christmas is over and you can drool for spring.

Krisy, that's awesome, We're financially challenged as well, but I went to the garden center at walmart and found ground orchids on sale for $7 a piece, I usually see them for around $16. I love them! Next year maybe I'll get some. I did get some lantanas of an unknown color for $7 a flat @ Lowes.

Kristy, that's the problem, and it wasn't me, LOL! I assumed because they were selling them, and I did read the labels, they would be fine here in our "warm" more like "hot" weather! My c. Niobe was planted behind a trellis that has the climbing Don Juan rose and so it shaded Niobe's base and did very well. Thanks Kristy!

Oh, that sound like a perfect spot for one. They do need cool roots in hot zones. I just mulch mine to shade them and plant stuff in front of them while they climb the trellis. Bri I hope things get better for you. I wish I could find someting cool like ground orchids around here. I went to Lowes yesterday to get screws for the greenhouse and didn't even go to garden center. They have absolutely nothing there right now but Christmas trees, poinsettas and pansies, lol.
