The granite and cabinet are both set level (I checked) and the granite does rest on the entire box so I don't currently see any gaping issues, but I do worry about the situation down below getting worse. I'm thinking that a fix much like Rm's is probably going to be our option, but if the cabinet isn't solid, that's just a bandage, and then, I do have another in the same situation, but it isn't showing wall board behind it yet. (Same tray shelves and pullouts) I will say, after this I really wish that Woodmode would have been able to do our kitchen. They couldn't do all of the custom pieces I needed (mostly our bay window) so we went Omega. I regret it, which is sad to say given the price of these stupid cabinets. My mother has been complaining about the plastic supports since she arrived LOL I think I'm going to reorder metal ones from an after market source. I like the idea of more than a piece of plastic holding up my dishes. I personally think the system is flawed. In a smaller cabinet, perhaps it might work, but when you pull the shelf out, it is front heavy if it's loaded. The two cabinets we have like this are about 50% of our storage, so being without them for a period of time is really an incovenience. Well we'll see. I'm honestly at the end of my rope on this remodel.

I had a lot of vole damage last year so I'm not sure what's going to happen this year with beets and carrots. I spend a lot of time knocking Colorado potato beetles and larvae into a container of soapy water but a gardening neighbor said if he waits to plant potatoes until after June 1, he never gets any beetles. I'm trying that this year. Chipmunks are a problem with anything grown next to the house. I can spare some cherry tomatoes but I never got a single ground cherry and last year tomatillos were a bust. This year I think I will plant some peppers in that area. I agree with using some covers. I put Agribon over winter squash seedlings and had less trouble with bugs. Last year I didn't use the cover and lost some varieties to cucumber beetles. What was odd was the beetles didn't bother some varieties but feasted on others like spaghetti squash. The kabocha squash did fine. Bears stay away from the yard. The deer have been staying away too since the first summer when they feasted on hosta. I sprayed with an animal repellant but haven't used any for the past couple of years. Early this spring there seemed to be one deer who wanted to check out the garden. Usually they stay in the farmers hayfield and eat his clover. I saw a very productive vegetable table at the Common Ground Fair in Maine. I was surprised at how much they had growing since it wasn't very deep. Some people call them salad tables. Tomatoes and summer squash would have to be grown in deeper containers. Good luck. I know what you mean about getting older.

Went to a Red Line Liquidators about 10 minutes away. They were having a 50% off sale on home goods. I found bed quilts that I had my eye on at Target...not a great brand**Fieldcrest** but they were linen with cotton fill for an amazing price of 8 dollars each. They are super nice and heck a cheap poly blanket from Family Dollar costs more. I took them home gave them a super long hot wash and they are really nice. These were new in the package not used quilts. Red Line doesn't sell used stuff.

I needed to replace the nearly-falling-apart cotton sheeting capris that I live in at home during the hot days - late in the season, so colors were limited, plus I wanted clearance prices. I finally googled the brand of one of the old ones (Erika) and came up with Boscov's - they actually also had a different brand, but pretty much identical, all cotton, and a couple of acceptable colors. Also had a 20% off coupon! even though shipping was a bit higher than I hoped - still, all told, I got 2 pair for $14 + change each. Capris Also I had a couple of good curb rescues: a George Kovacs ceiling pendant that was missing a globe (replaced from the local lighting store); a floor lamp that just needed a new socket, a table lamp that was perfect, and this Safavieh shag rug that needed a heavy cleaning - but turned out just fine! I'll probably sell the rug instead of donating since I had to put more than usual effort/time into it. Likewise the pendant - looks like it sells for $400-500 new - someone will get a bargain (my ceilings are too low in my small house to use it, too bad!)
