I need some ID help on some cool plants, (calling the experts!)

Some new Winter acquisitions, I could really use ID's or verifications for these plants. Some I am fairly sure of, others I am shooting from the hip.

Abies balsamea 'Piccolo' Looks NOTHING like 'Piccolo'. Maybe even Abies lasiocarpa??

Another unknown fir. I have about five firs that are completely unknown. No one seems to have a clue, sometimes even of their species. This is one of them.

Abies koreana 'Glauca'. 'Blauer Pfiff'? Or just a blue seedling?

that blauer pfiff.. makes me want to ask if that is untrimmed understock with a tiny graft under that rubberband ...

but one would suspect you would know to look for that..

did you change your name... ... or did we just sat calling you FFB???

Your Abies balsamea 'Piccolo' looks okay to me.

Abies fraseri 'Fastigiata Compacta' - this is likely the result of propagation of a side branch (tertiary, horizontal, rather than secondary vertical) and would be considered a cultivariant. It should develop a leader within a few years.

Unknown fir: look up Abies forrestii

Abies koreana 'Glauca' - could be 'Glauca' - do you have a spring/early summer photo, would be easier to make a guess.

Abies koreana 'Green Compact' is likely the same as 'Compact Dwarf'

Hi Mocc: Thanks so much for the looking you have done for me Nakaiana - leaves look much wider than mine Sugar Bebe - the mound grows much higher than mine and I have no streak - but it is a slim possibility I updated the stats with my first pics I realized I was measuring the leaf from the ground including the petiole (duh). Both mounds are small and especially not very high which eliminates many cultivars. So.... I don't know either. Haven't planted any in ages. I dust the cut pieces with wettable sulfur to prevent rot. I did some ornamental sweet potatoes not long ago and they are growing well so you never know. Go ahead and try you just may have to water more in the heat.

OK, several points need to be addressed. (And as a former upholsterer and slipcover maker, I feel capable of pontificating, LOL.) I'm delighted you washed a sample and kept the records of how and where it shrank, and how much. Go you! It washed well, didn't bleed, and shrank minimally. It sounds great for a slipcover. However, you can't simply dump 18 yards of fabric in a home washer. You can't dump that much fabric in a commercial washer either! That's an enormous amount of fabric! Were I you, I would cut oversized pieces for each of the slipcover sections, serge or zigzag the edges and wash those smaller pieces. If you think the fabric will bleed at all, put a Shout Color-Catcher in with the pieces. Then have the slipcover constructed. Do give it a boost with some more Scotchguard, after it's completed, if you're worried about stains. Some have said to contact the manufacturer about the "washability" of the fabric, and the durability of the stain protection. It will not happen! If you choose to wash a fabric labeled for dry- or solvent- type cleaning, you void ALL warranties for the fabric. Sure, it IS washable. Cotton is washable. Linen is washable. So is the silk blouse you may have. All of these are washable, but the manufacturer is NOT going to warrant against shrinkage or fading or bleeding. IF you choose to wash that silk blouse or your 18 yards of slipcover fabrics, you're on your own. I would still do it for myself.

Abies balsamea 'Piccolo' always seems to backwards facing needles, yours seems to have swept forward needles. Nearer Koreana looks.

I agree with Brent.
Your unknown fir bears a striking resemblance to the "unknown fir" I recently asked about. And the universal consensus was that it was either Abies forrestii or Abies forrestii var. georgei. So that would be my guess on that one.

Your 'Piccolo' does look much like Abies lasiocarpa to me also..

Your Abies fraseri 'Fastigiata Compacta'look also Abies lasiocarpa.
The 3th plant probably 1 abies delavay group.
Abies koreana 'Glauca'. 'Blauer Pfiff' probably right.
Abies koreana 'Green Compact'. Same as 'Compacta'? unknow for me.
