Do you fertilise it, what with and how often? , citrus need a lot of nutrients, it could be that , and how cold does it get in winter there ? , it will need something like 400 to 600 hours of cold weather below 12C in the winter to make it flower in spring

I was wondering, can bringing a tree such as hers to the brink of stress, such as withholding water until it wilts, cause it force it to send out buds?
I have seen it when I forgot to water some of mine in containers to the point of almost death, bad me, then shortly afterwards push out tons of flowers...
Something about tricking it into thinking it is going to die to send out offspring, the buds..
I don't know, but if this is true, they might want to try this avenue, withhold water till wilt, if the cold is impossible..

water stress does often pop a lime tree in to bloom, so there's a possibility. I, too, wonder about the fertilizer program on this tree. However, 'Tahiti' lime has no requirement for cold at all, ever. In hottest south Florida they tend to flower almost every time they put out a growth flush, year-round.

In ground, apparently you can dig a hole to uncover the roots to cause the plant to dry out and cause stress to make it flower, but its much easier in pots were you just dont water them

Its that cold over here that ive not had a problem with the citrus flowering so ive not tried, but i do have a couple of bears lime trees that have flowered and fruited like a lemon tree , continuously flowered since last june under the growlights, i though they must have been lemontrees miss-labled but they are limes

On other fruit trees such as pear,plum and apples it seems normal that if a few years after planting they havent flowered they chop the roots with a spade to stress the plant into flowering!, that sounds a bit drastic to me chopping the roots to cause a plant to flower

So if she can not get the cold nights living way down there, does that mean that she will not get the tree to flower?
I have a home in Puerto Rico that has lime trees on it, and they flower all the time where temps average above 60 300 days of the year...
I myself am wondering. Can stress induced drought do the same thing?

Hope I did this right. Here are some photos to give you an idea. One is from Oct.2008 & the other June 1, 2009. As you can see, not much of a change at all.
Also, it gets fertilized, but I'm not sure what kind (my husband does that). I think he uses a general type.
