fruit trees dont live forever.. like other trees might ... your was improperly planted under the power line easement.. and it looks like they have hacked it back for years ... it is not uncommon for fruit trees.. to try to reproduce like mad.. before they give up the ghost ... i would NOT invest too much in this tree ... i would invest in a new one ... and plant it in a better location if your yard is big enough ... so that in a few years.. when this one just isnt going to make it ... your replacement will be up and running .... there is nothing you can do about the gigantic scars ... and the termites are winning.. it is time to emotionally separate from it ... i know its not what you want to hear ... but sometimes it helps to plant the new one.. to get past the separation anxiety .. good luck ken

It's a lovely tree, whether or not it blooms. I have an avacado I planted from a pit on March 20, 1975, the day we had a major, major ice storm here in Michigan, and I've been waiting 34 years for it to bloom, I've concluded it NEVER will under household conditions, but it makes a lovely foliage plant and is like an old friend. So, it makes the annual trek outdoors for the summer, and back indoors for the winter, gets repotted in fresh soil every few years, cut back to keep its size manageable ever four or five years, etc. Just the way it goes. Hey, if I were you, I'd go to a craft store and get a whole bunch of those realistic looking styrofoam based artificial lemons, and wire them all over it, and then tell people what a nice crop you've got. 99% of them would never know they're not real. Just stick a couple of real ones on there, too, and pluck one of those in front of their faces. If your tree has large thorns like many seedling citrus, you could just impale the lemons on the thorns with no trouble. But then, that's just me! I'm "different" or so I've been told.

Hello Dragon, Well, you didn't give a height of the tallest one in there...so I estimated it's 18 blinds high at maybe 1.5 to 2 inches each blind. So I think your tallest plant is about 27-36 inches tall. Sound about right? Well, I am rather new to the whole citrus thing to, going on my second winter now...but from the volumes of info I have read, I would say yes, they are in danger of being root bound, or rather tangled within themselves if there are four of them. I would transplant immediately if it were me. In fact, when my two seeds in one small pot sprouted, I waited till their second set of leaves emerged and transplanted into individual pots. I didn't want to deal with detangling the roots since they are so sensitive when manipulated. I just feel they would grow much better and stronger from the begining if they were in their own private home to expand in. Since yours probably are intertwined, when you transplant, I would soak the root ball for a while, and then gently spray off the soil as much as you can so you can see your roots. Gently tease the seedlings root systems apart, very very gently. If you need to cut some roots cause they are too tangled, I would opt for cutting the smaller seedling roots to free them from the bigger ones, but that's just me. I have no sound reasoning besides I would rather risk damaging the root system on my smaller less strong ones, and let the big strong ones keep on keeping on without stress (or the less as possible). Again, I'm no pro by far, just giving you an idea of what I would do. I'm sure you'll get replies from some pros soon. I think they will tell you something similar tho. Hope that helps. I think you need a bigger pot and probably a white pot. The pot should be made of plastic I am guessing that there are few clouds there and the humidity is low. The solar radiation you get is much higher than mine even on my brightest days. I grow my trees in a soil with 3 to 4 time the water retention of the 5-1-1 mix that is recommended for citrus. This prevents my tree from drying out in the summer but I must use a vacuum chamber in the winter to prevent root rot.My citrus tree containersUsing a vacuum cleaner to draw fresh air through the root base to prevent root rot. You won't need the light set up shown but with a heavy soil your tree will benefit from the drawing of fresh air a few times a week. Check for pest like spider mites and spray for that insect.
