Comments (24)I haven't fertilized them. They're really doing quite poorly. I've been out of town but see that while I've been gone they've continued to lose leaves- both dropping them and having them shrivel up. And there is definitely also new growth. I've tried watering them, not watering them, watering them a little. Not really sure what's going on. I can wait a few days and give them some fertilizer if you think that won't be too much for them....See MoreNew to lights - could use some help rooting jade cuttings
Comments (3)Hey AG... I'm trying to find a suitable light setup for my jades for this winter too, since they'll all be relocated to an area where there really won't be much light at all. I was looking at the same lights you bought, though I decided against them because I thought/felt the lumen output wasn't sufficient to what I know jades to need. Looking at them online again, I'm beginning to think they might not be all that bad (if it puts out 1,093 lumens per bulb). All that concerns me is the color range - 4,200K. If there was some way to get "daylight" bulbs for it, I think it'd be OK for jades (though I'd want at least four). Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong because, again, I'm looking for a good light setup for a rather small space (a corner with about 2ft clearance along either wall). Comments (24)I'm about to cut the cuttings again (new cuttings and have some other better one on the way). I'm going to be using Al's gritty mix (assuming that's the best for this?), so should I let the turface in the bin that appears wet, sit out to dry? Also, what size pots are you folks using for these gigantic cuttings? I have some 6.7" shallow azalea pots and thought that might be a good fit for the depth and stability as well. Any thought are greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the input you always give, it's highly appreciated!!!...See Moresjv78736
