Alina..when you read the old adage that "Clematis loves their roots cool and their heads up in the sun"..what that is trying to get across to the reader is just this...Clematis roots like to "stay moist"..that is why you always keep them watered and also plant them 2-4 inches deeper than the pots you get them in deeper planted=staying moist...always soak bare roots overnight and plant in a one-gallon pot with a handful of bonemeal..place where they get morning sun only ..keep watered well/stay moist...as the foliage appears let it produce a few sets of leaves and then keep the tops pinched out..why you ask?..So to ensure that your clematis will focus on producing a strong root system and not leaves...once the clematis has its roots starting to come out of the bottom of the pot, then you know it is strong enough to be planted directly into your gardens...so in actuality you don't "keep your pots cool" you keep the soil moist..are you planning on container growing your Clematis?...and what zone are you in??...Jeanne

Last June I ordered Huldine and Sweet Autumn Clematis from Digging Dog Nursery in Albion, CA which is on the Mendocino Coast. I live in central CA where we have very hot summers so I was apprehensive about ordering them in the summer. Our local nurseries just don't have much variety or I would have bought from them. The plants arrived in excellent condition although the containers were small. I potted them up in 1 gallon containers and didn't plant them in the ground until the weather cooled in the fall. They seem to be fine, although growing slowly. I also bought Perle d'Azur from Digging Dog at the SF Flower & Garden show in March and it too is doing fine.

I haven't started season 2 of Mrs M but others have said that you have to sick with it and it improves greatly.I watched the Netflix movie called Dumplin and it was cute although the story line is rather time worn. If you like Dolly Parton at all, you will like this. It was just what my holiday-weary brain needed. I started Ballad of Buster Scruggs and Kominsky Method before Christmas. I have to get back to them since I was thoroughly enjoying both.
