Imp. Meyer Lemon Inground - Snow is coming!

We have 2 Improved Meyer Lemons that were planted in the ground last (2009) spring. We had such wonderful fruit from both in December. It was amazing!

We're expecting a winter storm with rain this afternoon that will be turning to snow this evening. I recently pruned them back from 4-1/2 - 5 feet to 1-1/2 to 2 feet which really concerns me.

QUESTION: Should we try to build some type of shelter over them before the snow hits? Would draping a sheet over sawhorses work? This storm will not last long. Do you think covering them is necessary?
