potd: a noid shows her true colors

good morning everyone

With amazement I saw that this NOID is a lot darker this year then last, when fully colored in.

could it be that it has been in shade most of the day, all season long?

Very pretty Lucy. Maybe I will grow mine in the shade next year, for blooms like that.

Oh, boy I hope they weren't in there this evening. I was spraying the front for mosquitoes and fleas and had John do the back. I forgot to tell him to not do the greenhouse and he did that and all the plants too. I hope it doesn't kill my roses and chrysanthemum. It said not to use on those. He sprayed all my plants that weren't near ponds so I hope it dosen't kill any of them! I saw quite a few critters on the brugs when I was stripping them today but they looked much less than there was before. Blasting them has been working well except THey were hiding on the back side of the plant, lol. I had to turn each plant around and sure enough they were all line up in the spots I had been not getting too. Sneaky dang mealy bugs. I laid several of them on the ground and blasted on side then rolled and did it again until I got them all the way around this time.

Bob, there are way to many to pick just ONE BEST picture :-) Kylie, I am SO busy with trying to get everything ready for the vacation....Thinking about you a lot and the great time we had. Hopefully AFTER the vacation I will have a life again and can get in touch with you. Until then, potted up the Cuttings today because I do not want hubby to deal with cuttings in water. Kim it sounds like a day that you really needed :-) Glad everyone enjoyed a star that shines all the time. The beauty about the internet sometimes. It is there 4FR lol Kristy you better get some color back by Halloween or you be the spookiest Ghost sitting there handing out candy. I am so looking forward coming over and taking Maddy trick or treating :-) I was so pooped after unloading the rocks roflmao that I did go to HD and Lowes and looked for the shelves...HD was all out of the 20 bucks ones grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I will check again this morning. But I am sure they only had a few and now try to sell their expensive stuff. There was NOT MUCH SPACE for where they sold them from. So you know there are not many. But I came home without shelves. I do not think I could have lifted one on the cart roflmao Lucy

POTD : Doosie has another bloom and...

Eloise even if it was an accidental mix up and it turns out that I have a NOID if it does not bloom like the Doosie does lol....It is one gorgeous Brug! Am I right or what? :-) Anybody who's been there and shipped a whole lot of stuff all at once, knows that things can happen. Oh and by the way guys and gals...when I send out seeds...there might be surprises popping up also roflmao I did do better this year but man if anybody says it is easy SEEING the difference...man how do you tell for example if a Malabar seed...black after drying...all shriveled...is not the same as a Lantana seed. No mostly it is the same kind seeds, like from the Canna's. As long as the plants were small and blooming...you could SEE what you got...but let me tell you there will be more MIXED packages going out then named ones lol What matters is...always remember, that you should never complain about something someone gave to you from their gardens. Just so you can have it too. So, Doosie or not Doosie...it is NOT a question for me. Unless I would share it with others. Hugs Lucy

The amount of light definitely affects the colour of the flowers. Beautiful colour, givelittle_getlots. It reminds me of one of mine.

You just got to love the cooler weather and nights. When I went outside mid morning. There it still was...beautiful and firm as I have seen a blossom in a long long time. It was just gorgeous!
To me it is totally worth it to have them protected from the hot TX sun all summer long.
There are 4 brugs in that place and all 4 have the darkest color leaves too. They look almost stress free...well the grasshoppers did discover them :-(

Glad everyone enjoyed my beautiful angel who does not need a name to shine.

Thats one of my favorites Lucy. It colors up nice in the fall. If its the one I think it looked more like frosty pink my first year then the second year it bloomed dark like that at the bottom.

Kristy that is the one I thought for the longest time that it was Salmon perfection from you. Until you burst my bubble and said you did not have that one at this time rofl. Now it is my NOID salmon perfection from Kristy. Just so I always remember the funny story.

It is special to me. Because it came from you when I just started out. Here I have my 2nd brug season under my belt. wow time flies.

You know I thought I was mixing brugs up. Cause I thought it was not that dark last year.

Did I tell you all that I LOVE BRUGS?
