The raccoons that have our yard on their grub-digging rounds hate the tangly feel of the bird netting over the new plantings, but if they find uncovered corners or a container plant being hardened off, they dig away.
Since I've been starting plants in rockwool cubes I haven't lost a plant to the little b******s. The seedlings, tossed to one side, but still in their cubes, replant easily. I don't even think they know they've been disturbed.
Woo-hoo...score one for me!
