[Help!] something pretty and something ugly on my succu

So, my succulent is an Alpenglow (Vera Higgins). Its very pretty, and I got it around a month ago. Its been repotted and although being new to succulents I've done my best and it seems pretty much satisfied. But theres something that worries me.

I can't tell if it has rot on some of the leaves. As you see in the picture, parts have a light crust on them. the plant is sort of dusty still from repotting so small specs is that. but other parts are more obvious.

Another thing I'm curious about is the little flower thats been blooming on it. I had no idea that happened with that plant. Does this happen a lot with succulents?

Anyways, if these are dots of rot on the plants, please let me know what i should do about it.

Lord knows i'm no authority on these plants,but I have many of them.That doesn't look like rot to me!! Mine turn different colors according to how much sun/shade they get.
I have some that look like yours and some that have an orangy color on parts of them and they seem perfectly healthy to me.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than I will be along soon with more answers for you.
In the meantime,i'd say don't worry.

Our yard is fenced off, but, rabbits still get in. They can squeeze those bodies through the holes of regular sized fence holes. LOL. They haven't bothered anything yet. (knock on wood) Once in awhile i'll let the dog out at 2am and there they are in the middle of the yard eating grass/clover. The dog chases them and they just slide out through those fence holes. LOL Years ago I had one get stuck, I had to go out and widen the fence hole to let it get through, the rabbit actually hissed/growled/squealed (whatever you call it) at me. LOL

Roses don't grow well indoors, as mike_rivers said. These roses are intended to be more like a cut flower--they bloom and then you throw them out. Now, that's not what we usually do with them, but that's the idea behind plants like this. They are green house grown very quckly to a small uniform size, fed heavily to make them bloom, and then sold at the supermarket or big box store as gifts. It's not that you are doing anything wrong, its that they have had absolutely perfect controlled temperature, humidity, lighting, water, fertilizer, and pesticides to make them look perfect. Now they are in the real world and they are having to deal with it for the first time in their little lives. You can plant them in a pot outdoors (there are often 4-6 individual plants in the single container) or in the ground. They won't survive indoors. They may or may not be good in the garden--some are very good, others are terrible.

Thank you all for your interest and comments, this is a real puzzle to me. We found no sign of sawdust or wood bits. The tree appeared to be very healthy, had at least 5 nice little apples already starting to get red. No beavers close by that I'm aware of (although last year our neighbor had a persistent one about 1/2 mile down our road that kept damming up a brook & causing flooding damage). I've had no experience with graft failure. Can a healthy tree just pop off of it's graft? We did have very bad wind and rain around the time that it happened. No sign of animal disturbance in the mulch around the base. Think I need to read up a little on graft failure...

So many leaves falling off and stalk damaged like that - I would suspect overwatering. There is always bigger chance of overwatering if using water retaining soil. If the plant is potted in fast draining mix and a container with drainage hole (is there one?) will diminish that chance considerably. That would be better way of not overwatering than using ice cubes :) What is the light and temps like where the plant is kept?

The crusty parts look like healed wounds to me. I have the same plant and little nicks and scrapes that happened during rough handling before I purchased it looked the same. It doesn't look like scale to me, but perhaps someone else will disagree.

If it is the color that worries you, it will indeed change with sunlight. Below is mine in full sun - with flowers like yours!
