Josh it was the one that was offered this past month. With the red underside of leaves and white dots showing on the border. I just tickled pink with this new one for me. I was so excited when receive. Norma

That is one impressive jade! Where did you find it? So, you sent her the cutting? She has been trying to figure it out for a while.

yes i sent the plant to Norma. i started that plant from a single leaf from a variegated jade. i am assuming that is what the plant looked like that had the mutated branch that someone cut off and later became my variegated jade? i am assuming it reverted. but still unique. that plant is a little more than a year and a half old i believe.

yes i believe you are right, Josh. here is a picture of Norma's plant last october.(i don't know which one) and the stem cuttings from the same plant. it shows you what the mother looks like there are pics of that on flickr also.

doomed yet, awesome. i found this photo on the web. it just goes to show if you stick a jade leaf in dirt you never know what you are going to get!

Yeah, I saw that pic while I was confirming images of 'obliqua'....

'Jade Obliqua' is the original name. It is the larger leaf form. I have the miniature leaf variety, they are all considered syn.
Crassula agentea, just another syn. small leaves. red stem, two forms or more. One is upright make a bush, the other drapes over the sides, no it is not Senecio jacobsonii. I think there are 10 more previus names.

I might just have to add one of these to my collection....

in time i will have cuttings or there is this i found on ebay. i am not sure if these little ones will grow to look like this one or not?

There are some good-sized plants available at the local nursery. The only drawback
is that they've been up-potted, so they're now $9 instead of $4...that's the business....

I'm pretty sure that the green and variegated versions are both available. You can bet on
pictures as soon as I'm back from town. I'll post them in this Thread if you and Norma don't
mind.

Alright, I'm back!
I bought some Castor Bean seeds for my brother, a Sempervivum 'sunset' for my dad,
and this Jade! This was the only "green" version left - although there were four or five large
variegated forms (about three times the size of this guy). As you can see, there is some
variegation on this plant...but I can look past that.

Thankfully, this guy was buried amongst other plants and it hadn't been up-potted...so it was
only $5 after tax. Also, it's a single-trunk specimen, which I always prefer.

I watered it, put it in some partial shade, and I'll re-pot in the next few days.
Now that it's out of the greenhouse and back at the Green house, we'll see if some
nice reddish coloration develops!

I was thinking of Christopher's small-leaf Jade when I mentioned the "small leaf" variety.
I wasn't sure, before pics were posted, which Jade had been posted. Now it is quite clear.
This one is definitely full-sized! Very exciting, indeed!

Never mind...I think I just found it from the website that you or someone else was nice enough to post here a while back? The picture resembles this name...Crassula arborescens ssp. undulatifolia cv. 'Blue Bird'

Not to me, I have the cv. 'Blue Bird' or Blau Vogel, if I spelled that correctly. I is ia very old cv. You didn't ask me, but if you have the plant you know the name instantley and know exactly what it looks like. Norma

This one is Crassula ovata obliqua (variegata should be in there somewhere), with the triangular leaves.
The undulatifolia has wavy or undulating leaves...and it's an arborescens!

Would you say the plants below are the same species than Norma's?

I took a clipping from the big one, which I rescued from the office, where it was receiving far too water and no light. It was a very nice surprise when it became purple after a few weeks at home.

I'm afraid I don't know if it's the same species or not (although others probably do); if you don't get comments here, you may want to start your own post (can link to this one), since this one is 6 years old. The purple color is very pretty!
