I have an embarrassing experience from the other side. There is a store here which has large tubs with the most beautiful flowers growing that I always admire. One day I parked near to take a walk in the neighborhood. I saw some seeds of Pink Salvia, I thot, I should ask - then I thot - oh no one collects seed. Even a woman was walking toward me, and I thot, oh she probably doesn't work there. So I took a couple of seed heads, and Yep, she said, "Please don't pick our flowers,", so I showed her I had seeds, not flowers, and she said, "We collect our seeds", so I apologized profusely and offered her back the seeds, which she said, "keep 'em". So my plan is - I'm going to send her seeds of my red salvia, my blue, and my white, and Yvonne's salvia, and tell her the story of Yvonne's salvia, and of course tell her about WS'ing. Hope this will make up somewhat for my rudeness! Always ask! I just haven't made up my mind if I should sign my name, or be anonymous - I'm still embarrassed. ellen

Kitchenredo- Thanks! My faucet is Kohler Simplice. The water wasn't hooked back up until yesterday, so I haven't really used it yet. I like the look of it. I had purchased a PricePfister (Ashfield, I believe), but based on some of the commentary/opinions on the boards (some posters reported quality issues with PF), I exchanged it for the Kohler. Golddust - I hope the grey works for your bathroom. I have to settle on my backsplash in the last few days. I liked your marble backsplash and have preliminary chosed a honed marble w/some warm beigy undertones. I'm trying to decide between doing subway tile for the entire backsplash or doing a row of 4X4s on the bottom, a pencil, and then subways on top (all in the same marble). The backsplash will also be installed on this wall (see below) where there will be 2 shelves installed above the bar - and I'm wondering whether I want to include a simple box/feature/pattern (I'm having trouble articulating this), centered under the shelves: Thanks!

Yes, about nutrition, she recommends the "plate method", divide a 9" plate in half. One half is to be vegetables, like salad, or low carb vegetables. Divide the other side into half (fourths). One fourth lean protein and the other fourth grain or carb. She said, with three meals divided like this, and 2 small snacks a day, it would provide about 1200 calories, without too much of any one thing. She also said exercise, exercise, did I mention exercise. The most important thing to help control pre- and diabetes is exercise, and lots of water. Dehydration is very hard on a diabetic. It really was a very informative class. She is a RN, diabetic specialist, and dietician. Yes, my doctor did say to limit the diet to 12 weeks, at which time I go back to recheck my numbers. The nutritionist said 12 weeks is entirely too long, so she will call the doctor and voice her concerns and will follow up with me once she does. Today my blood pressure was down to 88/57, which she thought was too low also. She is going to mention that to the doctor when she calls. She said it may be why I don't have much energy and feel sluggish. I hadn't even thought to check BP. Just a little recap, BG is under 100 (last 3 checks), BP is way lower than it was, weight is down exactly .2. Yes, that is correct point 2 in a little over 3 weeks. About the monitor and strips, my insurance covered mine with the pre- diagnosis, but I still had a copay of $30 for 100 strips, $25 for the meter. Walmart carries a brand ReliOn which sells for less than $20 and strips for it is less than $10 for 50. It would have been cheaper for me to buy those without insurance than the one I got with insurance.

HI Brittnee! A daughter is much different than a girlfriend. Always remember that. If you've been dating your boyfriend for a long time and know his parents well, and they knew it was your birthday, ....and she does buy birthday gifts, it was kind of rude. But she may be the type who doesn't buy gifts for boy/girlfriends, only sons and daughters in law. This is something you need to discuss with your boyfriend and see if there's a problem you're unaware of or if this is the norm. As for me, only boys here....short term girlfriends gets a smallish gift. Long term girlfriends gets a nice gift, a DIL gets spoiled more than I do my boys! :)
