Ya think? I don't know..I have only given this one MG twice maybe 3x since I have had it outside. It's been outside since April. I always forgot about this one because I had it in an area where I had no other brugs. I don't think this one got any FE or ES either.
Can you see the bumpies in the tan spots good? I can't take another pic, I got rid of the leaves.

Have you had a lot of rain?

Linda, yes, we have had a lot of rain, then went right into this god awful heat wave from hell. I usually dont mind the heat, but it was just too fast! You think it could be too much water?
Karyn, I haven't seen any bugs, no webbing, no holes in the leaves..the only brug that doesn't have holes actually! ...but of course that doesn't rule bugs out. Thanks for the link, I have to check that out after I get the kids into their beds.

O great, here comes another thunder storm!! oo its windy as all heck! And it's down pouring now. Gotta turn comp off, it's right over us..

Is there any chance that it has been real windy ? I am just guessing here, but the last two times it has gotten real windy here with the storms, I have had my leaves look real similar to yours...I thought it was wind burn..I removed the leaves, and all seems to be ok.

I was upset with all the rain we were getting before, but I think I would take it now instead of all this heat..it was 109 with the heat index at 10:30 this am..UGH !

I hope that it is just the wind, or too wet for your plant !

I don't know, I have had some spots that looked similar but I figured it was fertilizer burn or wind or John drowning them all with water, lol. I removed the leaves and the new ones grew back fine. The brug behind my lady statue overlooking the little lotus is really lush. I wonder if she is shady it a little or something?

Would John have watered them in the hot sun & splashed the leaves?

Ok, I will take a stab at this.

IMHO it is fungal from excessive rain water splashing from soil to leaf. Overnight wetness can cause this.

Be happy for the rain and that is is not mites.

My spots may be from John watering in the evenings or me watering too late in the morning. I still haven't gotten my mulch and have been watering twice a day. They are droopy by evening with all the wind and heat.

Just a thought with all of the rain.. It could be oedema...

"Oedema occurs when roots take up water faster than it can be used by the plant or transpired through the leaves. Water pressure then builds up in the mesophyll or internal cells of the leaf causing them to enlarge and form tiny swollen blister­like areas."

fertilizer burn does not look like this, unless you actually got the excess on the leaves. High mineral salts ( fertilizer burn), which is generally temperary, cause distorted, misshapen, or discoloring of the growing shoots.

Cat pee? dog pee? this is a posibility. In any event I wouldnt worry about it if it is on only a few leaves.

Okey, looks like drops of water that magnified the sun onto the leaf and got burned- just a more elaborate way of saying what Linda did.

Water early, so the drops can dry by the time the sun gets overhead. Watering at night is something that I have to do sometimes but wet leaves at night encourages fungus. I just water into my pots or around the base of my plants, not onto the leaves.

Try this and see if your symptoms disappear.

Thats what I try to do in the evening is water only at the base. Where is Daniella, lol.

Are you for real? I can water at noon? That would be my ideal time, lol. I figured I would kill everything. My poor grass in crunchy. I really need to turn on the sprinkler.

I have spots on several of my plants that look like that....they showed up right after I sprayed them one evening with a bug spray...I thought/think it is a chemical burn....poor brug babies.

I haven't gotten MG on the leaves, am always very careful. This one is in a pot, and up off ground level, so no animal pee. I always use the watering can.
I havent sprayed with anything for bugs, this is my only brug that hasn't been bothered by bugs.

Brenda, I only water in the morning, never at night unless I absolutley have to, because I don't want powdery mildew or anything else. If I do water in the middle of the day, I just water the soil.

I have to say, that I have not believed that myth for a few years now, if it were true then when we got those mid day sun showers..wouldn't everything get fried. I believe that the water evaporates before it has a chance to magnify and burn.

I think either it's either the too much water, from all the rain we have had, the soil just hasnt had a chance to dry out real good, and/or the fungal thing Jim mentioned. This is a very small plant and her leaves are very close to the soil. I had to move her into bright shade, because she wilts at the first hint of sun on her after 10 am. I can tell this one's gonna be such a female, lol.

I checked yesterday when I moved her into the pool area, to bright shade, and she had one more leaf with this on it, just around the edges. I removed it.

It bothers me that she can't handle the sun, even before mid day! Will bright shade be enough for her to flower?

DaffLady, What did you use? Maybe you should water it down a bit. I always water down my fungicide/miticide/kill 'em all spray, when it gets down to about 3/4 of a bottle left. Still works just as good.
