A sad succulent story

So I have no real purpose in posting this, but I just thought I would lament my troubles to all you other succulent lovers out there lol.

So I threw a big party this weekend for my friend's birthday. I let guests bring other friends so that it could be a really big thing for one of the first nice weekends we have had around here. Since I knew I wouldn't know everyone coming over, I hid most valuable/breakable things in a back room, which was coincidentally where most my plants live, minus a few in a big window off my living room. I figured those few would be fine, as I didn't have any most space for them in the other room, and didn't think there would be any disturbance near the window, no matter how rowdy people got.

Well unfortunately I should have been more careful. As I cleaned up sunday morning I noticed a big vacant space near the window. When I went to investigate I discovered that my old hobbit jade seemed to be missing... I assumed someone knocked it over and it broke or something, and they threw it out, so I went to look in the dumpster, but no sign of it or it's pot and no spilled dirt anywhere - so I'm assuming someone took it. It was a nice looking plant, think trunk, pruned into almost a tree shape, but I didn't thik theft worthy, just a leafy friend I had kept around a long time... I never considered someone would get drunk and take a plant... lol :-/

I'm kind of heartbroken - I was very attached to it. It was started by my mom from a cutting from my grandmother when I was young, it grew and was my mom and my first pruning project, still while I was young, it has come back and forth to college with me, currently residing in around a 2 gallon pot, and has been one of my favorite plants for a long time....

anyway, just thought I'd share my sad story, I was thinking of getting a second one, but now I guess it will be a replacement... Have any of you guys ever had one of your leafy friends "plant-napped"?
