Hurray for rain

It hasn't been as bad as last year, that's for sure. Last year even some of the natives were dying from root rot.

This winter -- about 3 months ago -- I planted a small strip alongside the driveway. It has no irrigation system and I'm on an ancient sand dune.

I planted three Myrica californica (PACIFIC WAX MYRTLE; for screening) a dozen or so little plants of Lessingia filanginifolia 'Silver Carpet' (BEACH ASTER; the groundcover) and a couple of Aloe maculata hybrids (a spot of color).

I've watered twice since planting.

Everything looks great! Photos posted soon.

Every now and then I do something right.

Joe
