I've only been burned on this forum once. I spent over $9 in postage and never received promised plants or postage. I can only imagine how you must feel.

I used to follow an epi forum and whenever anyone posted that they had something to trade the same girl would come on everytime asking for a plant. She would say upfront she had nothing to trade and couldn't afford postage. I always thought she was nervy but at least you knew what you could expect from her.

I can empathize with those of you who have been burned in a trade.

I hope I haven't left anyone wondering if I received my end of a trade. I try to always send an e-mail thank you note. (Not very good at getting the hand-written type in the mail.)

However, it is possible that I have missed someone along the way. The GW members, as a whole, are extremely generous. If, per chance, you sent me something and I didn't acknowledge it, please know that I am very grateful and extremely touched by your generosity.

Also, you may one day be pleasantly surprised to receive a note, e-mail, or postage from someone who you thought had burned you. Life sometimes has a way of interrupting our plans. I left several people hanging when my son was in an accident last year. After a few days, I was able to get my laptop to the hospital and at least notified everyone of the situation. I must say that each and every person was very willing to wait for their end of the trade. I did cancel some pending trades with the agreement of my trading partners.

Kylie, glad your Williams is doing great, mine is too! He's planted in a large pot and looks happy. I would have preferred to plant in the ground, but gophers have destroyed previous bananas so not taking a chance. I hope to be able to harvest bananas from my own plant at some point in my lifetime, LOL!

kylie, I don't think I've ever traded with you (or bummed a plant from you, LOL) but I think you're amazing, and I insist - no, DEMAND! - that you agree with me :)

I'm soooooooo sorry. I sent out 14 packages but then again, I didn't "trade" on the list because I'm not that brave.

And I told people not to send me postage until their packages arrived safe and sound and the cuttings were good.

Not a SINGLE person didn't come through. Every single person sent a check.

These are people here in the forum.

I'm so sorry you got another bummer for your efforts.

Kylie was one of the very generous wonderful people here who got me started with beautiful brugs.

I still have her strawberry creme and a couple others. I still have the ones Karyn sent to me also.

Those, like the others, got passed along last year to people.

I think we all know now, even though Kylie rants, she has a massive heart, and willing to share.

I'm sorry that others on the trading forum didn't come through. That always makes it tougher.

But to Kylie's credit, she keeps right on offering!

Unfortunately someone saw fit to report Kylie for something and she has been banned. Just wanted to let her friends know why she isn't posting anymore. Its a shame that she can't state her opinion without getting in trouble. I haven't been on that much lately but didn't see anything to warrant that kind of action. Kylie hasn't been banned. It's the spam lockout feature that GW installed that's locking innocent people out without rhyme or reason. It happened to me last week. She needs to clean her cache and cookies. I hope she knows how!

Yes she sent me an email saying that she'd been banned. When it happened to me I didn't think I'd been banned but figured that it was a problem with GW. They've been having all kinds of issues the past few weeks. With most of the other problems I'd had I could report it through the contact link but this time I got a "message rejected spam alert" error when I used the contact link.

I posted a message this morning about Karma's ebay selling. Got a mail from the GW webmaster and I am very sad to say that all of a sudden not even others can post links to great sales. I am confused. Dissapointed because like I wrote them, that is how I found the best buys and nurseries etc.

I do not understand why all of a sudden there is a restriction on that. Why some are being taken off the forum and so many are allowed to stay.

This is not making me happy and I rather go outside and garden now before I start crying because I felt like home here and now that feeling got another hit over the head.

I have been on GW for over 10 years, before under a different name. Got the heave-ho from Spike, so had to change my name to get back on. I didn't know it was a no-no to link to another gardening site. Bad me.

About getting screwed and not getting what you traded for. Been there done that - too many times. I gave up trading for a long time because I kept getting ripped off. And I don't do trades with cold emails either. And I don't send out plants UNTIL I get the postage. Learned the hard way on that one. I just recently returned to doing trading. I did a rose cutting trade and after spending $11, you guessed it - nothing. Stuff happens!

I always acknowledge by email when I receive a package and thank the person. It was the way I was brought up. And I know how feels to wonder if something arrived or not. I like to know if the package did get there.

Have you checked out the names on the Rate and Review Exchange Forum. It is a way to avoid bad traders. Here is my feedback below.

I don't understand why some messages are removed and members are banned and others seem to post the same type of messages and get to stay! I wonder if it's a matter of "who you know" that allows some members to post brugs for sale, while others get banned and have their posts removed. It does not seem to be a fair and equitable system to me!

It does seem odd that some posts linking items for sale remain and others get removed. I wonder if someone calls GW's attention to certain posts? It's not like administrators can read though every single one.

Looks like my english isn't doing too hot today either, lol. I meant phrases. I have never seen anything get deleted unless someone complains about it so something happened in one of the posts I guess. I noticed karma has posted two about the same thing and they are both gone now.

Seems like they have been keeping an eye on posts ever since that orange infusion thread that got out of hand. Every one with a link to a seller or auction or something after that seems to have been removed.

Just sounds like everyone is just a little upset about the situation with Kylie. I am new here but wouldn't they send you an email to be curtious and let you know if you been banned and the reason for doing so. I read this post last week and don't remember anything that was way out of line. Just a person who was upset about being taken advantage of. I feel their frustration. Anyone would feel that way. People who do that sort of thing ruin it for everyone else. They should be the ones banned from here if they get more than 3 reviews saying they did not come thru on the end of a trade. And that is 3 too many chances if you ask me. Gee, I've blabbled on too much already, hopefully I do not get banned from here. eeek!!!
I hope it is just a spam thing. That would be great. Sounds llike she is a very intellectual person and her expertise would be greatly missed.
