In comparison (judging from the 2 out of 3 I have, and that it is still early-having planted these just in the Spring): 1. MIP & Heritage both appear to be doing well (no flowers yet on MIP) as far as foliage, though Souvenir de Dr. Reynaud seems a tad better than MIP on both counts. 2. Thought about Frederic Mistral, but went with the McCartney Rose instead (which seems to be doing well, though growing slowly, so far). May need to reconsider FM (but for 2010, so far for fragrance, leaning to- Desiree Parmentier, Climbing Clothilde Soupert & Marie Pavie). 4, or multiples thereof, seems to be optimal for shipping, though.

As far as the yellows go I think the Jamaica Yellow has the nicest scent. I couldn't really say which of the whites or pinks have an exceptional smell. I have a few of each and all smell wonderful but nothing that jumps out like the JY fragrance. The only white that I've noticed that has almost no scent is the Ecuador White and that might just be my plant. Karyn

Hello all! I almost forgot about this thread. Thanks . Unfortunatly I lost this plant!! It fried in my greenhouse by accident. It fell behind a shelf and I never noticed until it was completely dead cleaning it up this past summer. I will forever miss this one. I am hoping to purchase another or some way get a cutting soon. It was one of my favorite and Greedyghost got the name right. if anyone knows a seller or a person willing to share, please let me know. Carol: The peachy rose in my bouquet is Summer Samba floribunda (fruity scent). Stehapnie: My own-root Golden Celebration smells like cupcakes from the oven, it makes my house smells like a cross between a florist shop and a bakery (YUM). One bloom perfumes the entire kitchen. Crimson glory (hybrid tea) smells good on the bush, but the scent is gone after 1 day in the vase. I prefer Firefighter's scent that lasts until petals drop. For quality of scent, I place Gruss an Teplitz's spicy scent over Firefighter. Gruss is drought tolerant & likes heat. It blooms best when the weather is over 90 F. Gruss grows wild in Pakistan's hot & dry and alkaline sandy soil (learned that from Khalid, who used to post in Organic rose forum).
